Which bra with off the shoulder dress

springtime12 · 23/05/2019 19:31

I've seen a very nice off the shoulder dress however I have large boobs, think 34E, so I can't wear strapless bra. The dress would be worn on casual occasions

Can I wear a 'normal' bra with it?
What bra do I need to wear with it?

Thanks

I'm a 34E too. Wonderbra strapless is your friend. It holds me up better than some of my normal bras and gives me a great shape.

try here. it has clear straps so you wont be able to see them but will have the security x

Jacksback · 23/05/2019 19:41

I bought a next one and it was really good ( bigger size than you ) and also an Asda one that was supportive
Don’t get a marksies one , makes your boobs oddly pointed

TacoFlavouredKisses · 23/05/2019 19:45

30G here and the Wonderbra one is indeed the best.

Do not get a bra with "transparent" straps! They need to go back to the fiery hellpit in 2003 from whence they came!

I wouldn't wear a normal bra, unless you're Carrie Bradshaw. I would have a look at Bravissimo. A longline strapless might give better support.

The Wonderbra strapless bra with the hands is your saviour. Mine's a 32G and I could even jump up and down in it - they aren't going anywhere.

Thanks for the suggestions, wonderbra has the most votes so far

Are they comfy? I had s strapless years ago when I was smaller and I found it uncomfortable

Try the curvy kate luxe, goes up to a J I think

KatharinaRosalie · 24/05/2019 09:29

another vote for wonderbra. It runs small though, you might need to size up in back.

G5000 · 24/05/2019 09:35

I respectfully have to disagree that you can't see the clear straps. You can, very well. If you really feel you need straps, find some that are meant to be shown, there are plenty of decorative options available. It would ruin the off shoulder effect though, srapless bra really is the best for this.

StarlightLady · 25/05/2019 06:22

Clear straps glisten in the sunlight like silver but brighter!

I have this problem and went for a prettier type of bra in the same colour as the top (in my case). No ugly thick beige straps! I think it worked ok for casual. If formal I would have to get a full-on basque type thing. The strapless bras never work for me (30G).

skippy67 · 25/05/2019 09:17

Don't get one with clear straps! Looks like two bits of sellotape on your shoulders... I have the wonderbra mentioned by pp. It's really good, but you might have to go up a back size.

Whateveryouwish · 25/05/2019 11:33

I’m a 36e and find the Wonderbra strapless bra really holds me up. However, I do find it tight at the back so I tend to only wear it for special occasions. For casual wear, I’m I’m wearing an off the shoulder top I just push my bra straps off my shoulder. Still get enough support and don’t find it uncomfortable.

Mojitomogul · 25/05/2019 11:40

Clear straps don't look very good imo!! I also found the wonderbra strapless too tight and I have a short waist so it felt like it was too low round my ribs for me! I love my m & s strapless. I am a 34FF and it's really comfy, I bought it from their dd+ range. Where I've put on a bit of weight and gone from a 10 to a 14, I have bought some bra extenders for the fastening at the back too and these just increase the back size slightly so much more comfortable.

EllJ · 25/05/2019 11:57

Another wonderbra vote. I'm the same size as you OP and it's truly the best one I've tried by a country mile. I do find it comfy. It gets a little tight round my ribs/ back by the end of a day but nothing to complain about
