What are the best tweezers you’ve found?

I had an amazing pair of tweezers, which unfortunately I’ve recently lost while moving house. I’ve bought a few replacement ones but they’re all thicker metal and clumsier, so don’t get out hairs that are just beginning to grow back. Can anyone recommend a really good set of tweezers, please? Thank you!! :)

Tweezerman and I tweeze lots. (Used to have trichlomania but have managed to migrate to tweezing legs)
I buy the same pair of I lose them or they get blunt. I have four pairs ready for sharpening I'm secretly excited to send them off Grin

isthismylifenow · 22/05/2019 08:05

You can sharpen tweezers?? Where do you send them to?

I have one pair that I like the most, and I have at least 10. Of course this is the same pair that everyone in the house grabs first for their random tweezer needs. I feel like I spend my life saying "who took my good tweezers".

I like them as they are not too thick and flat. I dont like the pointy ones as they dont grab my chin hairs half as well as the flat ones do. Now do you think I can find a second pair the same. Nope.

Queenoftheashes · 22/05/2019 08:06

Yep tweezerman

TheQueef · 22/05/2019 08:06

Tweezerman have a free lifetime sharpening service.
£15 for tweezers is crazy, until you try them Smile

isthismylifenow · 22/05/2019 08:11

Think I may have to invest in a pair of Tweezerman and hide them.

Sparklyring · 22/05/2019 08:27

Absolutely tweezerman! Love mine, didn't know about the sharpening service!

BoreOfWhabylon · 22/05/2019 08:31

I have Tweezerman, which are excellent for single hairs but I mostly use very fine surgical mosquito forceps, which I liberated from work several decades ago. They have fine serrated blades and when laid flat against the skin can grip a whole line of hairs and deal with them in one go.

Good ones are very very expensive though.

Tweezerman! At first I baulked at the price but they last. I have pointed ones and flat edge ones. They're the business.

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 22/05/2019 08:45

Yeah tweezerman. Bought a pair in my late teens, then a replacement in my 20s after losing the first pair. Found original pair and both are still going fine in my late 30's. They do seem expensive, but like PP, they last well!

Calco · 22/05/2019 09:48

Tweezerman mini for me, I just find as they're smaller I can angle them better and closer than the larger ones, not sure why though! Plus they were a bit cheaper so when I lost my original Tweezermans I thought why not try the mini's and actually preferred them!

Mrs9C · 22/05/2019 09:52

@BoreOfWhabylon Grin laughing at the mosquito forceps - who knew!! But a whole line of hairs....did you also liberate local anaesthetic?! OUCH!

I 4th/5th/6th the Tweezerman recommendations. I buy a new pair every few years with my saved up Boots points. My current pair are on their 5th year, still going strong, and not looking to replace any time soon. As long as you look after them they'll look after you Grin

TheQueef · 22/05/2019 09:52

I don't think the mini have the same tension Calco I've only one pair of mini they are my travel tweezers Grin

Mrs9C · 22/05/2019 09:53

Hold the bus.... I did not know about the sharpening service! What? Looking into that!

TheQueef · 22/05/2019 09:56

www.tweezerman.com/free-sharpening

They even have a video to watch, very satisfying.

Mrs9C · 22/05/2019 09:57

These are the actual pair I have in this video...little confused by the sharpening address is in NY. Not sure I could do without them for 4-6 weeks, in fact I know I couldn't, but after 5 years maybe I am due a spare Grin www.tweezerman.co.uk/free-sharpening/

TheQueef · 22/05/2019 10:00

Mrs9c that's why I have so many, I can't be without them Blush on the positive side I now have eyebrows (1\2 on one side) and I really enjoy buying something that actually works and lasts!

Yes I know I live life on the edge.....Grin

Mrs9C · 22/05/2019 10:04

This is true, I've been using Tweezermans for 10 years, and wouldn't think of buying any other. Boots sometimes have a deal on them too, so worth keeping an eye out. A worthwhile investment.

littlemeitslyn · 22/05/2019 10:04

Now have electrolysis

BoreOfWhabylon · 22/05/2019 10:08

Mrs9C it's surprisingly painless if you just hold the skin under tension and certainly speeds things up! Grin

MaiaRindell · 22/05/2019 12:17

The Anastasia Beverley Hills tweezers are amazing...Unfortunately my 12 yo has lost mine.

Abcd3 · 22/05/2019 20:05

Wow, thanks for the recommendations!!

I sent two pairs away to an address in Texas USA and both were sharpened and returned in the post. I can't remember how long l waited but it was a month or two. But, definitely worth it.
