Looking for any tips to get my horrible fringe under control. I don't like having one but my forehead humungus without one. I've tried all the drying techniques but by mid afternoon its back to being awful and stringy strands across my forehead again!!

Thicker fringe so it’s more of a feature?

TitianaTitsling · 21/05/2019 21:31

I think that's what I'll end up doing but the rest of my hair is so fine worried that it the rest of my hair will look flatter than ever!

What product do you use on it? I use shockwaves volumising mousse and it adds grip and texture, stops my fine fringe from separating.

Shorter and thicker.

This is what I've done. It makes all my hair look thicker. And having a shorter fringe doesnt make my forehead bigger, it frames my face better.

And it stays in place all day. Much easier to maintain, doesn't separate. ( Use my sons clippers to trim it in between hairdresser visits to keep it sharp)

Really quite short - half way up my forehead and curved. Its a very strong look. And works really well with my fine hair.

I've been using this tresemme one, although wondering if it's the bounce aspect thats not been helping! Would the fringe here which is fuller than ive had just go even wispier?

SOmething like this. ( or google micro fringe)

It really works for my fine hair - I have cows licks too, but at this short length they disappear. Its when it's longer the problems start and my hair separates and goes straggly.

Doesn't need styling products, just blow dry straight and it does it naturally. Stays all day. I love it.

youllhavehadyourtea you’ve got to be a certain kind of cool to pull that off, I’d love a short-short fringe.

Sion457 - It's having confidence to do it.

I'm seriously uncool. Im in my 50s with 4 kids. ( that pic is not me!!! wish it was!)

One day, I just got so fed up looking stringy and hangy (everything is droopy, not just my hair), I decided I wanted a Strong Woman haircut.

So i got one! Short, sharp and strong. And Ive not felt (very) droopy since.

Streamlined my wardrobe - got rid of all the hippy stuff I wore ( very droopy) and sharpened up. Clean lines, simple sillouhette, sharp haircut.

SUch a confidence boost.

Go for it!

I'm in exactly the same boat.

I'm constantly battling hairdressers who think my fringe should be half way down my nose - fine if you're Claudia Winkelman, but I know for a fact that my fringe works way better shorter, or it goes all stringy. Mine isn't as short as youllhavehadyourtea's but it is certainly above my eyebrows. I trim it myself every few weeks if I'm not sue a haircut.

I also had a bit more hair cut into it - a little more hair pulled forward and added to the fringe to thicken it up. It was surprising how just a little bit added really seemed to help, although you can't go too mad with this.

Dry shampoo on the fringe every morning really helps too.
