Can I use hair dye on my eyebrows?

The grey hairs on my head have finally become so numerous that I'm going to start dying rather than plucking. I got some Naturtint permanent dye and am currently doing a patch test.

I was thinking about putting some on my eyebrows for a minute as a tint after finding a website suggesting this, but the instructions say it's only intended for head hair. I know the skin on your face is more sensitive but can I really not use it?

No, but you can buy eyebrow dye, it's really easy to do.

Your eyebrows are in close proximity to your eyes, the hair dye may sting and irritate your eyes without even being in contact with your eyes!

Also the hair dye is not formulated for brows - it’s stronger and not the right consistency. Eyebrow dye won’t drip down like hair colourants can. Hair colourants may also have a longer development time - there’s nothing to suggest that 1 minute will actually tint your brows if it’s supposed to be left on your hair for 40 minutes.

I use hair dye on my eyebrows with no ill effect.

Most eyebrow tints come in a very limited colour range. I don't want harsh dark brown eyebrows!
I use Nice N easy root touch up in dark blonde, and just make up a little at a time. The angled brush is good shape for brows.

I think eyelash dye would be ok, just not as big a range of colours IIRC. If you have a SALLY warehouse, you can get it there, not sure if they do it in Boots. Edge your eyebrows in Vaseline first.

Just before our holiday I totally forgot to buy eyebrow tint, so used my hair dye instead..it worked perfectly! I Just left it on for about 5 minutes instead of 25

I do it too. Always been fine, your really not supposed to though

I use refectocil which is what they use at the benefit brow bar. Excellent stuff, works in minutes.

Before I had mine microbladed on I used to use just for men beard dye. Always did a fab job.
