Ds wants a pair but I can’t spend that when he’ll grow out of them/trash them by playing footie in them. Size 4/5. Any high street dupes out there?

Yes! I've been waiting for an excuse to recommend these m.deichmann.com/GB/en/shop/home-ladies/home-ladies-shoes/home-ladies-shoes-canvas/00009001661165/LadiesVTYBlackCanvasLaceupTrainers.prod?&fromCategoryDetail=true&positionInList=15 (sorry can't do clicky links on my phone).
I'm the same size as you're DS and the 37 fits me really well. I find them more comfortable than real converse because they've got a little more support in the insole.

Ooh, I like those, darkside!
