How do I keep my straightened hair looking good on a raing day?

I got my very curly hair cut this morning and had it dried straight (which I almost never do because I find it to be a faff). I do like it tho and am going out tonight so would like to keep it straight.

But it's a crappy rainy day so assume it may need some tidying up before we go out. What do I do to make it look like the hairdresser did? I'm going to try to keep it out of the rain (I've got a good hood). I have a Dyson Airwrap so could use the straightening brush thing but dont know if this is a good idea. I am prepared to buy some straighteners today if that would help (ive been considering some recently anyway) I've got frizz ease and hairspray.

What do I need to do?

I find that if it has been straightened at the hairdressers my hair can survive a little rain. Depending on how much dampness your hair will be exposed to I would say, as a curly girl, that straighteners will be needed to keep it looking perfect though.

Agree with PP, hairdresser usually puts so much serum in it, it stays straight for longer. If my hair does get a bit damp generally speaking though, i'll just run straighteners through it ( and put a bit of L'Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Heat Protect Styling Spray - Intense Straight thru it beforehand if damp)

Any recommendations on which straighteners to buy?

Surely the Airwrap will get rid of any frizz? I've just bought one and hoping my straighteners are going to be redundant soon?
Otherwise I'd meet at your friends house and just borrow theirs. Seems silly to buy some for a one off

Colour wow dreamcoat is good

Every time this sort of thread comes up the dreamcoat comes up too and I swear I will buy some someday soon! Grin

Baxdream - I've only really played with the airwrap for straightening ( I usually curl which is super easy) From wet, it definitely dries it straight ish but nowhere near what the hairdresser does. Also I have no hair related skill! I'm assuming if I used straighteners post airwrap itd be near what the hairdresser does - thus my idle interest in getting straighteners...

Try the colorwow dream coat, it's amazing and keeps you frizz free.

BabyDarlingDollfaceHoney · 18/05/2019 13:47

Sorry just to clarify that will only work for future blow drys not today.

A cloud 9 is the best hair straightener in my opinion. I use Living Proof No Frizz Humidity Hair Spray.
