Is there such thing as a non greasy facial spf 50?

If so what is it!?
ive tried ultrasun, cetaphil moisturiser spf 50 and CeraVe spf 25. Theyre all really greasy.
I have acne prone skin so desperate for a high spf that doesnt clog pores or look shiny and greasy

I was vexed by the same issue and suffered horribly with cystic acne trying to protect my skin from the sun with various products.

Then I found Biore watery essence. It’s wonderful. It dries matt and I’ve had zero spots when using it every day for near on two years now.

You still need to make sure you double cleanse at night to fully remove it though.

ParadiseLaundry · 14/05/2019 06:42

I also have acne prone skin and like you really struggled to fine something suitable. I feel that spf makes my skin awful.

This isn't answering your question at all but I wear my normal moisturiser (spf 15) and foundation (spf 17) and avoid being in the sun as much as possible and wear a hat all the time when out in the sun. On a very sunny day when I know I will be out a bit more I use a factor 30 bb cream which doesn't seem to aggravate my skin, a Korean brand, Skin79. It is still quite greasy looking though.

Seconding Biore watery essence. Buy it online. About a tenner. Completely non greasy.

UserAlice · 14/05/2019 06:47

I’ve been using this for the last 10 days in Crete on my very acne prone skin. It’s great - no huge breakout like I usually get. Still the odd blemish but that’s normal for me.

I know body shop have thespf50... Haven't invested in it yet, reviews online look good and people here usually give it a mention.

MistyMinge2 · 14/05/2019 06:51

Biore watery essence is amazing. I got some off amazon. I put it on after moisturiser, but before make up. Not greasy at all. My skin has actually improved and has a better texture on the days I wear it.

Google Sali Hughes non greasy suncream. She did an article in the Guardian.

I've seen a bodyshop one recommended quite a lot too.

Zurisee · 14/05/2019 06:53

I’ve started using Eucerin Oil Control they do an SPF 30 and 50. It feels more like a gel and has a mattifying effect, almost feels more like a primer than a suncream.

eurochick · 14/05/2019 07:06

Another vote for watery essence. Suncream normally brings me out in spots on my face and feels horribly greasy. This does neither. It's brilliant stuff.

LaBrujaPiruja · 14/05/2019 07:15

Heliocare 360• Gel Oil-Free
Best spf 50 ever.

RoastNuts · 14/05/2019 07:15

This is absolutely gorgeous. You should be able to get a free sample at any Clarins counter.

I found an amazing one in the body shop the other day. SPF 50 feels dry to the touch

BigButtons · 14/05/2019 07:18

I found the watery essence didn't offer nearly enough protection. I burnt on it and I am a religious user of sunscreen.

AlyssasBackRolls · 14/05/2019 07:20

The Ordinary brand ones aren't mega greasy but they do leave a very obvious white sheen, even when rubbed in my face is a shade whiter. I don't use makeup though so if you did it wouldn't be as obvious.

NotStayingIn · 14/05/2019 07:21

La Roche Posay Anthelios 50+
Invisible ultra resistant shake fluid

It’s brilliant. When you first put it on you might worry it will be sticky, but give it a few min and it completely sinks in. Think it’s about £15 in Boots. I wear it everyday and have no problem with clogged skin.

TheChineseChicken · 14/05/2019 07:23

I always recommend IS Clinical Eclipse, which comes in tinted or not. It's really light and doesn't clog my skin. I was recommended to use it after I had treatment for sun pigmentation in my face

mrsjg · 14/05/2019 07:27

Body shop SPF50 - fantastic

SuperSange · 14/05/2019 07:29

I've had a new one from Avon for a couple of weeks now. It's matte and not greasy at all. Sits nicely under foundation or is fine on its own.

snaxinyourslacks · 14/05/2019 07:30

Heliocare 360 is lovely and non greasy. I use it as my daily moisturiser now.

ScrambledSmegs · 14/05/2019 07:38

Biore is great for not too much sun exposure but I don't think it's particularly long lasting (think the word is photo stable). Amazing light and clean texture, drawback for me is the high alcohol content. Still use it regularly though Grin

The heliocare 360 gel oil-free was recommended to me by a dermatologist. I should probably give it a try. Currently use Anthelios for sport but don't like it much.

Thisismyusernamefornow · 14/05/2019 09:33

I use the body shop one. Good value and does a great job. Wear it under make up etc.

RD15 · 14/05/2019 09:36

Another vote for heliocare oil free gel- it’s great 👍

Cakey46 · 14/05/2019 10:14

I'm an oily type too and I like the Heliocare 360 but it does have a 'glow' you might not like. Try the Mac Prep & Prime SPF 5O - think that's a proper mat.

Troton · 14/05/2019 10:40

Wow thank you loads of brilliant suggestions. Now just to decide which one to try! Thank you again

Just to add that when I’m spending the day out in the sun, I top up my Biore throughout the day with Susan Posnick brush on block spf 30 powder so I’m not rubbing cream into my make up.

VanillaLatteAndCake · 14/05/2019 14:36

I second La Roche Posay. I think it is described as non-comedogenic which is why I bought it.
