Where are all the tops?

I used to get nice quality t-shirts (some patterned/slogans) at H&M. But in recent years they've changed to them being either cropped, skinny or horrendously baggy. The blouses are now either fussy with loads of buttons or lower cut at the neck than I'd like, or fussy with loads of pointless frilly bits/ties.

M&S is too frumpy & plain.

Next is overpriced - ditto Mantaray (and they're too loose cut). New Look is full of festival looking clothing or t-shirts with high necks and frilly frippery blouses.

What I want is a top that will fit a 40-50 year old woman that is not:
Low cut
Cold shoulder
Choker neck
Open to my boobs
Itchy/lurex
Hugely baggy
Hugely expensive

Where can I look? I don't have much of a budget £10 tops for a decent t-shirt type thing.

What about Primark. I got lots of nice cotton tops there recently. Well its Penneys here in lreland. Some nice striped ones in various colours. Someone even said you are looking very French.
I agree about other places having a bad selection. I did get some nice ones in TKMAXX too but its lucky dip with sizes etc and probably cost a bit more.

Hmm, no luck with my local Primark, but then again, most of the stuff is hung on the floor by the afternoon! I have another fairly close so can try that. I like the idea of stripy tops. Saw one in New Look but it was a size 4.

Mango or Zara. Try the outlet; some lovely stuff there. www.mangooutlet.com/gb/women/t-shirts-and-tops_c10884767

Sainsburys, Tesco and Matalan tend to be good for teeshirts, Matalan more so than the formers of you're looking for plain ish.

I got some decent tops in Gap a few weeks back. V neck, plain and patterned t-shirts.

Next, agree a lot of their clothes are overpriced but not these. They're on a mulitibuy too - 3 for £16.50. Crew neck, v neck and longline with a great choice of colours
