They're these from Asos. They are comfy for me, proper denim, no stretch, but think a bit high crotched?

Thanks...some different views! My hair is long and I usually wear it tied up so not really wanting to change it. Agreed about the top and wearing them rolled up. I may look for something similar. I'm not that worried about being trendy, but like to try different things, so bored of skinnies.

Why does one have to spend life in stuff that's 'flattering'? Why is it bad to 'look like a man?' I mean we know that we're women. Why is it bad to wear clothes in which we can do active stuff.

What's all this 'I wouldn't want my adult daughters' in clothes unless they look 'flattering' and 'feminine'?

Can't we just live our lives - and maybe dress up once in a while if that's what we fancy?

Anyway they seem fine to me.

Pepperdino · 14/05/2019 12:43

I think they're okay but not great. Would look better with a snugger fit on the thigh and a tapered leg. And they'd look better if they were a little shorter as the length is a bit frumpy. Definitely closer to what the fashionable people are wearing though compared to skinny jeans. Fashionable people are not wearing skinny jeans, if that's a consideration for you!

Pepperdino · 14/05/2019 12:45

I’d not want my adult daughters wearing them, they look ugly and shapeless

Are you one of those awful people who pokes her beak into her adult children's sartorial choices?

Letthemysterybe · 14/05/2019 14:37

The trendy people I know wear jeans like that. But trendy people somehow manage to make everything they wear look cool, whereas when I wear the exact same clothes I look like a member of the women’s institute circa 1978.

IJustLostTheGame · 14/05/2019 16:05

Love them.
I'd wear them rolled up though
With some sort of vintage band t shirt
And Adidas gazelles
And maybe my ex army jacket
Or a vest top
Or some really brightly coloured wedges and a cami.

I'm going on ASOS now....

Cokezeroisyummy · 14/05/2019 18:03

I think you need to be young and hip to carry them off. I would never wear them as they are the sort of jeans my mother wore in the early nineties, it would just be too weird.

relaxed2atee · 14/05/2019 18:14

Think it was the colour...too dark imho

Ellapaella · 14/05/2019 18:47

You need more of a tapered leg to wear turned up with trainers.

Ellapaella · 14/05/2019 18:48

In fact I agree with everything @Pepperdino says a few posts below.

Notonaschoolnight · 14/05/2019 18:55

I liked them which were they

Faffandahalf · 14/05/2019 18:59

I think this post shows the age of collective MN.

They are the right kind of jeans for now. The problem is you haven’t styled them at all.

You need to roll them up, wear with trainers (Stan smiths/gazelles or even ‘hipper’ Veja) and a cool floral blouse (Zara has some bright bold ones at the moment) or a T shirt with a graphic or stylised writing of some sort.

Leather jacket/oversized denim

And you’re good to go. Grin

Faffandahalf · 14/05/2019 19:00

Oh and they’re too long anyway. Even for rolling up.

Always go for an ankle length style (and ignore chilly ankles!)
