Dress for Royal Ascot

I'm going to Royal Ascot for Ladies day this year in the Queen Anne enclosure. So not to strapless, thin straps or bardot.

Never been before but would love to look 'right '.

I'm indian so brown skinned, 5'0, size 8 but very curvy with small bust, heavy upper arms and big hips plus a belly from 2 c sections.

What would suit me? I'm not fashion conscious but would love to look good for once!

Please help! Ideally wouldlike a dress and complimenting headdress (fascinator or hat) - max budget £500 incl dress fascinator, bag, shoes and jewellery

Of the three, definitely the first, it’s beautiful and very classy.

You have a great figure! I like the orange dress and the yellow dress.

small2018 · 16/05/2019 22:27

The second yellow dress I mean!!

ILOVEALLCAKES · 16/05/2019 22:30

1st photo posted on Sunday (pink dress) looks fab on you. I also like the orange.

bluejelly · 16/05/2019 22:37

Love the very first dress you posted, and the orange one. You're going to look fab!

FanSpamTastic · 16/05/2019 22:42

How about something like this here?

UCOinanOCG · 16/05/2019 22:50

I too like the yellow followed by the orange.

Peregrina · 16/05/2019 22:52

For Ascot, the orange one looks the best, but the second yellow one really shows off your slim figure.

Girlonatubetrain2 · 19/05/2019 17:44

Thank you all - i absolutely loved the 2nd yellow one but agree thee orange was more appropriate.
Have bought this hat
Now to find some shoes . . .

All fabulous but I second the poster who said bring a jacket. It can be freezing at Ascot and nothing ruins fun more than being too cold!

Girlonatubetrain2 · 19/05/2019 18:01

Yep taken that on board - struggling to find a nice blazer that doesnt look like it belongs as part of a suit.
Any hints on how it should look?

My biggest issue is i need it to be in petite . .
Some of the suggested outfits were beautiful but not petite so they dwarfed me Hmm

I'm there on Ladies Day in Queen Anne Enc too and am also stressing about my outfit.

You'll look fab OP - the very first dress looks lovely on you. If I spot you will raise a glass!

Alsohuman · 19/05/2019 18:21

That hat is beautiful. As is the orange dress.

grumiosmum · 19/05/2019 18:39

That hat is fab and will look great with the orange dress.

Sometimes a light coat looks better than a jacket ...

£500 is quite a large budget, I have seen fantastically large fascinators for under £40 on the high-street
