www.justfashionnow.com/product/shirt-collar-deep-blue-women-summer-dress-shift-date-work-linen-dress-367724.html

There’s some nice linen loose trousers/tops and lovely dresses but am thinking it might be one of those where the quality is crap and the garment is “a version of”. The prices are given in £££ so....

Thanks

Looks like a cheap Chinese type website to me I’m afraid.

JustCallMeSliths · 11/05/2019 22:15

Just search for reviews. They seem consistently bad.

MissKittyBeaudelais · 11/05/2019 22:39

Ahhh. Ok.

There's no address for the company, the phone number is in China and I've spotted a few mistakes in the website. Avoid.

CraftyGin · 11/05/2019 23:54

What is wrong with Chinese manufacturers?

TabbyStar · 12/05/2019 07:26

That's a shame, clothes look nice on the website, though the 5* reviews on there look clearly false! Independent reviews really bad though. Let us know if you find somewhere else that is good for the same sort of thing.

What is wrong with Chinese manufacturers?

China produces a large percentage of our goods so it's illogical to claim they can't manufacture to a high standard. However, they can and do also produce goods of a very poor standard. A lot depends on what market they are manufacturing for and the compliance checks and quality controls that are put in place. With this particular site, it looks like you are buying direct from China. You may get lucky and find that there is nothing wrong with the quality and you get a bargain. Alternatively, you might find the goods are not up to standard or don't arrive and then you're completely at their mercy because you have none of the consumer protections you get buying from a UK-based retailer. You might also find that you get hit with a bill for customs duty or VAT as you are effectively the importer.

MissKittyBeaudelais · 12/05/2019 15:40

I haven’t really seen the stuff I want at uk retailers (shops and online). This type of thing....

Have you tried here?

Why is Uniqglo's website SO bad? Does anybody know? It freezes, regularly doesn't work, has random, intrusive pop ups. You'd expect better from a Japanese company.

BluntAndToThePoint · 12/05/2019 19:59

I second Uniqlo for linen items.

DianaT1969 Are you sure it's not just a crappy internet connection at your end? I've never had any bother with their website or pop-ups. Maybe you need a better service provider?

Fridaysgirl · 12/05/2019 22:41

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS WEBSITE

I blindly bought two dresses from them about 6 months ago. I hadn't spotted that they come from China.

As a result they took over 6 weeks to arrive and when they did they were very, very poor quality. They were also tiny, no way the UK size they were supposed to be.

And.... then there is absolutely no way of returning! I gave them straight to a charity shop. A total waste of money.

MissKittyBeaudelais · 14/05/2019 18:41

Thanks for the suggestions. I’ve looked at Uniqlo. Nice. Are sizes reliable? Also liked some of the Poetry stuff but can’t afford!

Tesco had some surprisingly lovely linen shirts in the other day. Also look at Vogstyle on Amazon. I saw them recommended on here and they've got some nice bits, very similar to what you're looking for and inexpensive.

MissKittyBeaudelais · 14/05/2019 18:47

Thanks 😊

Zara definitely have tops in that resemble image 1 & 3.

Linen is a huge trend this season, so you should be able to find items that match that aesthetic at a wider range of retailers. Even down to the buttons.

hatemyhairhun · 14/05/2019 19:00

Also like buying low quality linen clothes could be a bad idea, I’m assuming that they get extremely creased whilst you’re out.

ThatCurlyGirl · 14/05/2019 19:01

Seconding Uniqlo and Zara for the style you're after.
