Drugstore foundation suggestions

As the title says really, I'm looking for a decent foundation which will last all day but not too heavy as I hate it when foundation sinks into my fine lines and eye bags and makes me look older than I am( mid thirties ) I recently brought the revolution make up matte one and it's crap, kinda expected it with it only being a fiver!

Let me know what you guys use!

I really like Boots number 7 foundations, lots to choose from so there should be something to suit your skin type and they colour match you. They’re around the £15.

DrBuckles · 11/05/2019 21:23

This from Primark- not as matte as the name suggests but it’s the best foundation I’ve probably ever used, it’s long lasting and doesn’t crease or make my pores weird

milani 2-1 it’s not drugstore but it’s only around £14 a bottle. Lightweight but buildable.

I rate Rimmel wake me up & the one with the white lid.

Sometimes your skincare routine & a primer make the world of a difference to how your foundation preforms

I quite like Bourjois Healthy Mix. Decent coverage, applies well and doesn’t settle in my lines or pores. My new favourite though is Clarins Skin Illusion.
I also agree with pp that your skin routine might need reviewing. I’m also mid thirties and had to recently add oil to my morning routine. My skin has changed dramatically, I can’t use anything like Fenty or ELDW any more, looks all cakey and settles into my lines and pores.

Freshia381 · 11/05/2019 21:40

I used to like Bourjois healthy mix but I found it oxided on my skin.

cookiemonster3 · 11/05/2019 21:45

This morning had a section on drug store foundations all under £15 on Friday. Worth a watch on you tube to get an idea on what would be best to try based on what you want and what your skin type is.

Isleepinahedgefund · 11/05/2019 21:48

I agree you should review your skincare before changing foundations. It sounds like your skin may be dehydrated.

I'm a foundation junkie and I've tried sooooo many in all price ranges. My favourite inexpensive foundations are The Ordinary (£6) I also love the Flower Beauty one (v limited shade range at Superdrug but fab if you find one, £12ish) Maybelline matte & poreless (£6) is amazing if you have oily skin, I'm sad that one doesn't suit my finicky and now dry skin anymore. I also love Kiko smart hydrating foundation (£6).

Choose your concealer carefully too - don't expect your foundation to do both jobs. Maybelline fit me concealer (£6) is one of my favourites full stop not just drugstore. The flower beauty one is great too but again shade range is an issue - I had to buy two and mix them, they're about £12 each so pricey for drugstore.

whymewhyme · 12/05/2019 06:08

I've tried both healthy mix and wanted to love them but they just done last me and I'm not particularly oily either!

No7 Hydraluminous is lovely

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 12/05/2019 08:07

Rimmel 25hr is my go to.

MistressWeatherwax1 · 12/05/2019 09:43

Max Factor Lasting Performance. I've used it for over 10 years and it lasts really well and has good coverage without being heavy. The Ordinary serum foundation is also good.

YesQueen · 12/05/2019 11:30

CYO lifeproof. I have three bottles as back ups. Doesn't cling or cake or take ages to blend and lasts me all day

Outofinspiration · 12/05/2019 11:31

Primark - the £2.50 medium coverage one in the squeezy tube. Best foundation I have ever used and apparently a dupe for Armarni Luminous Silk.

Xxalisoncxx · 12/05/2019 18:51

I actually really liked the revolution one you mentioned, I’ve got quite a lot to cover. I know people who love double wear - I look horrific, I know it depends on your skin type etc. The new primark glow one around £6 I found to have pretty good coverage and gosh foundation plus in Superdrug has amazing coverage around a tenner I think x

PinkieTuscadero · 12/05/2019 18:53

Do people say drugstore in real life, or is it just beauty blogger talk?

whymewhyme · 13/05/2019 16:11

@PinkieTuscadero more than likely beauty blogger talk but I didn't know what else to call it!

No7 hydraluminois is nice.

Revlon Colourstay and CYO are also decent.

LoafofSellotape · 13/05/2019 16:18

I think Drugstore is American,I say High Street Smile

Chickenpie9 · 13/05/2019 17:33

Wet N Wild do one in Boots which is fab and I say that as someone who has tried all kinds of expensive foundations .
