Please can anyone share where they have found a decent dress suitable for a wedding if they are plus size ? I am probably size 24 huge tummy ( have bought some of those support pants to contain it a bit), short ( 5ft 2 in). I am in despair. Wedding is in 2 weeks and I'm panicking. Cost isn't really too much of an issue , I just need to look decent.

I like this very much

I think Chesca are a good plus size range and they do lovely occasion wear.

SansasSnatch · 11/05/2019 16:31

Oh that’s lovely bent

I think I would wear a block colour rather than a floral pattern.

Lady V, the Lyra is comfy and flattering.

Try Lindybop or Dolly & Dotty. Loads of plus size dresses on there.

Recently wore this to a wedding and had lots of compliments (size 22 and 5 foot)

Slightly longer on me than the model but it helped cover but fat knees lol! They have a 24 in stock.

Babyroobs · 11/05/2019 18:19

Bent - That first one is lovely. I have ordered one to try so thanks for the suggestion.

I’m also plus size with some weddings to go to so am following. 😊

TalkingOrmer · 11/05/2019 19:39

I’d agree that the Quiz clothes are the best.

I’m not sure why shops think that plus size people just want 50s dresses.

Hefzi · 11/05/2019 19:43

I find most Scarlett and Jo dresses really unflattering: most of their styles make most people look like cottage loaves Sad

I've never heard of Quiz before so off for a gander!

SwimmingintheDeepBLUESea · 11/05/2019 20:35

Debenhams (lots of different plus sized dresses in one place online) and Yours clothing are my go to for dresses. Evans have some that sit very flatteringly but materials are mostly polyester types.

SwimmingintheDeepBLUESea · 11/05/2019 20:42

I just looked at other suggestion and I really like the first one bent linked to - glad you've ordered it to try op.

🤔

Babyroobs · 11/05/2019 21:00

I have also ordered one of these to try . www.very.co.uk/v-by-very-curve-double-layer-lace-midi-dress-navy/1461016147.prd

And thanks Swimmimg for the Debenhams suggestion there are lots on there. I went in store to Debenhams today and there was nothing plus size but hadn't thought to look online.

SwimmingintheDeepBLUESea · 11/05/2019 21:21

It's a bit frustrating that Debenhams don't appear to stock any of the plus size dresses in store (certainly don't in the Debenhams by me). At least returns are easy and when done in-store immediate.

Studio 8 (made by phase eight) are also worth checking out. Lots of possible wedding guest dresses on their website.
