Covering the beginnings of grey hair...

I'm 29 and I've been getting greys for few years now and have been moving my parting around to cover them but, annoyingly, they're all in the front of my hair and all partings are now contaminated lol.

My hair is waist length and naturally a dark/mid brown with no colour in it at the moment but have had my hair coloured in the past. I'm thinking about starting to add colour to disguise the greys.

I was thinking balayage (don't want too much blonde near my root though as my eyebrows are black) so this won't cover the grey.

I also like my natural colour but wonder if this would be more of a committment to upkeep. There aren't tonnes of greys but they are all in the front and are quite wiry in texture so stand out.

Recommendations please! What do/did you all do?

I’m the same, just a couple of grey hairs. I have copper balayage in dark hair, so keep that topped up with a copper toner shampoo & conditioner. That seems to be doing a decent job so far, as I’ve not found any grey hairs since my last hairdresser colour.

Boots & Superdrug both do them in loads of shades and you literally shampoo them in & leave for 3-5 mins.

Ideal! I'll take a look at those.

With your balayage do you get the roots tinted your natural colour and the ends lighter?

Last time I had my balayage it was just the ends and the roots were left natural so it wouldn't cover the greys.

I’ve had it for years now, so I tend to get it refreshed & lifted up to near my roots. The toner then goes on all over so does cover the odd grey.
