Something better than Dr Martens

For years I have worn Dr Martens Polleys as a work shoe as they are smart but insanely practical if o have to do site visits.
But the declining quality is pissing me off and my latest pair has split leather after just two years of light use (o was on mat leave for half of it).
Please recommend me something similar but reasonably priced - having to pay out insurance excesses on both car and house in the same month has left budget tight!

I've switched to solovair - unlike most Dr Martens, they're still made in the UK. You won't like the prices but, if you're anywhere near Northampton, their factory shop is excellent - last time I was there the ends of range were 60% or 70% off.

Well out of my budget right now. Maybe in future though
