Daft question about petite sizing

Hi,

I'm 5ft5, so just a bit tall for petite. However, I've seen a skirt on asos that I like the look of. In the standard range, it looks to be a few inches too long. In the petite photo,the model is 5ft4, and on her it looks slightly longer then I'd like. But as I'm a bit taller, it may fall close to where I want it to if the skirt is a bit shorter.

My daft question is as follows - will a petite skirt be the same measurements as standard other then the length? I.e will the 12 be exactly the same size, but the petite is shorter?

I think generally petite has different measurements all over. Not just the length. Is there not a size chart?

I find they are generally a bit smaller all over, but that shouldn't matter so much in a skirt.
ASOS are so good with returns you could always order two sizes and return one?

Forgot about the size guides, never usually look at them. Looks like waist and hips are the same in standard and petite. Might take a punt on petite. The model in the standard one is 5ft10, and it looks longer on her than I'm looking for, so it'd be far too long for me.

Generally they are cut with a shorter height and body length in mind, so if this was a dress, you might find the waistband too high for you at five five. In a skirt though, the length should be the only difference. Measurements do vary within ranges though. I would order your normal size.

I shop at ASOS quite a bit..I'm a size 8 and some skinny jeans that I like are full length..if I want more of a 3/4 length, I will just buy the petite ones in the same size..

Ordered. I wouldn't do the same with a dress or a top, but hopefully skirt will be ok. I'm cursed with short legs and a long body, so actually buy some tops in tall.

I'm exactly like that! From my boobs down to my hips is so bloody long 😡 most tops show my tummy! Have to get tops in long length! Annoying isn't it!
