Is Paula’s choice 2% bha just water!?

I recently ordered a sample size of some 2% bha in the hope of the salicylic acid getting rid of my spots and clogged pores. I’m sure it’s just water in there!? It doesn’t smell of anything, feels like water and I actually even tasted a drop(!) and ermmm well it doesn’t taste of anything!!
Could it be a con or a bad batch !? Is everyone’s else’s like this? Does it actually work?

I have it and it’s definitely not just water - mine is very effective and keeps my skin nice and clear. I wonder if it’s a dodgy batch.

I know I was (and pretty much still am) so convinced it’s water after tasting it 😆!!

Does yours smell of anything? I’m not gonna ask you to taste it !!

It doesn't smell of anything and doesn't really feel like it's doing anything when you apply it but it does work. It is a watery consistency but slightly thicker IMO. I've never tasted so I don't know if no taste is normal but I think yours is probably legit!

It’s not really strong but mine definitely has some kind of smell! It also has a very slightly oily feel to it, not like water. Definitely makes me skin better too. Mine is a sample as well but I’ve had it a while so could be different!

Thank you. I’m definitely going to email them and see if it’s a duff batch. No scent, no oily feel or any kind of consistency for that matter!
In the mean time I’ll continue to use it and see if it does do anything 😆

Try The Ordinary salicylic acid - I’ve found it great, and cheap!

I love the Ordinary in general however their salicylic acid did nothing for me. So I have to use ££ Paula’s choice one - definitely not water. It’s perfect that it doesn’t —stink— smell of anything!

Well, I was curious so I’ve tasted a bit of mine just for you and it 100% has a (not very nice!) taste Unless you have numbed senses or they’ve reformulated yours sounds very different.

I’ve tried the Ordinary salycilic as well and it is good. I liked it about as much as my Pixi Glow Tonic but the Paula’s choice is a bit better than both imo. I alternate to save money!

Have just ordered the ordinary AHA and BHA peel which I’m hoping will be good

@GreyBirds thank you for being as loopy as me and tasting a bit for me 😂But that does help confirm it for me. I’m still not convinced about it being anything other than a bottle of water!

Hey! So I know this thread hasn’t been posted on in a while, but I recently ordered 2 different bottles of Paula’s choice because of this VERY REASON! I had ordered it before and it was totally fine- worked great, didn’t smell or literally taste like water.. until I ordered a completely sealed bottle from eBay- WATER. Got a refund. Went to Amazon to get a replacement, I literally got ANOTHER freaking bottle of WATER. (It was also totally sealed and looked completely legit) I tasted both of them numerous times and they are both definitely water. I think a shady supplier(s) are bottling these (likely fake bottles) up with water and selling them. When I called Amazon today to get a refund, it turns out that the particular 3rd party seller who sold and sent me that bottle is brand new to Amazon, so they couldn’t even figure out if there had been other issues because they literally signed up to sell a few days prior. Very shady! I’ve been searching the internet to see if anyone had the same problems and then I saw this! I’m glad to see I’m not going crazy lol..
