Summer dresses for size 16?

So I normally wear figure hugging Jerry dresses knee length from H&M or similar or black linen skirt with long strappy top. But the dresses are showing every lump and bump - I've put on some weight.

What would suit me? I'm 5 foot 7, big boobs, no waist, big tum, apple basically. I fancy a maxi dress but haven't found any I like. Also a dress that buttons all the way down. I don't like dresses in knee length, they make my calves look big. Must be cotton, viscose or linen.

My budget is quite low. I usually shop inn H&M or on ebay.

Any suggestions? With links or photos if anyone fancies taking the time Grin

TIA

Hush sizing is huge generally. Vanity sizing gone mad .I would try the 14 OP .

Seems to be in stock in size 16 when I just checked? John Lewis also sells hush stuff so sometimes still have stock when Hush are sold out. I agree that the sizing is big though so could be worth also trying 14.

Batsypatsy, I bought two lovely wrap-around dresses from Primark. They are maxidresses, with a v shaped collar, and they make me look like i’ ve actually got a waist!!!
Very floaty and summery.I am somewhat taller and larger than you are.
Hope this is useful

I've just bought a dungerees dress from Tesco.
Same height and shape.

Only thing is it's knee length but it's actually a good length for tall people.

I’m fairly apple shaped too. This year I’ve bought a couple of cotton dresses in M&S in cotton. A Long khaki sprigged sundress and a shorter khaki sundress. Plus a silk maxi dress in green mix from Jigsaw. I’ve got some very flattering tops from One Life Clothing. But they also do dresses in a lovely cotton crepe type material. Also Laundryb a shop in Chester have lots of dresses online in a similar style to One Life but generally cheaper - in linen mostly.
Good luck, I find dresses really hard to fit. Somehow tops and skirts are so much easier.
