Are they back?? I’ve seen 2 relatively young women wearing them this week. They both wore them with what looked like bodies and really high under the bust. Is this a thing? I still have one lurking in the wardrobe 🙀

I bought one recently and the pleats are really thin. It sits on the waist though. I’m not keen on the high underbust look. It makes me look like a dalek Grin!

Yes, they are everywhere just now, I quite like them. But I wear them in the normal position.

NiteFlights · 10/05/2019 09:57

How do you keep the pleats looking good?

Hoppinggreen · 10/05/2019 09:59

I bought one to wear with trainers and a denim jacket as I had seen a few people wearing them and thought they looked cool.
I looked like a square nun

I bought one and it made me look big, I’m a size 10, and the DDs laughed and said I looked like I was going to play netball in the 1920s Hmm It went back.

Mine is more or less maintenace free, you hang it up straight out of the washing machine and pleats stay in place.

ilovecherries · 10/05/2019 18:53

nite, there is some mystical magic to them which means the pleats stay sharp and don't drop out. If mine is slightly creased, I just hang in the shower. They are the ultimate low maintenance item - you must never iron them. I stick mine in a gentle wash in a net bag, very short spin, at a time when I know I will be around to remove immediately. Whip it out, quick shake, hang on a skirt hanger to dry.

Thanks StarlightLady and ilovecherries - good to know. I suspect I’d look like a hefty 20s tennis player in one but I do like them, so might give one a try.
