Least painful type of high heels?

Saz432 · 09/05/2019 18:53

Argh help me. I have to wear high heels for the first time in nearly three years (okay, fine, I probably haven’t worn heel reguarly for a decade).

What style is least painful? Going out in London so there will be walking and tubing involvement, if I could just get in a cab it would be fine.

There are shorter pleasers

NC4Now · 09/05/2019 19:44

I must have missed them!

Prequelle · 09/05/2019 19:49

On their official website they have from boots (

NC4 I’ve worn 8 inch out but I wouldn’t recommend it Smile

I really rate these. I have the rust and leopard print. I wear them to, at & from work everyday.

I like Miss L Fire shoes. I’ve always found them, dare I say, comfy.

UnicornRainbowsRain · 09/05/2019 20:46

Irregular choice!

Saz432 · 09/05/2019 20:54

Sorry - I know I don’t need to wear heels because I’m short. That’s why I don’t wear them (or own them 😂).

However, this is my first fancy night out in years, and I would like to look my best (aka not as short and fat as I usually look!)

I looked at Pleaser - can they really be comfortable? Or is it just that the people who wear them are conditioned to the pain?! I used to have a much higher tolerance for heels!

I think shoe boots are my best bet as they’ll work with the dress too - will find some nice ones that don’t look too painful! Unfortunately it’s the kind of dress that would look best with some very pointy high stilettos and there’s just no way!

Wear something comfortable or you won't have a good time. For me, this probably wouldn't be new shoes at all, too risky.

WhatOnPlanetEarth · 10/05/2019 13:56

Saz I wouldn’t want to wear anything else other than Pleaser.

The higher heels are averaged out by the platform at the front, thus making them very comfortable. Like I mentioned earlier though, don’t go near 8 inch unless you can trust your balance on odd ground - and in London it’s probably not worth trying! However 6 inch range maybe be worth a look.

I can dance in 8+ inch most nights and it’s not something I needed to build tolerance for, but I did start from 6 inch because of the fear, and the weight factor.

Whats your budget? Stuart Weitzman does very comfortable heels & lots of options

DameFanny · 10/05/2019 18:30

You know what I said about the heel being at the very back? That's every Stuart Weitzman shoe in the link. Unless you've got very small feet and get an exact fit those are going to hurt

Spandang · 10/05/2019 18:37

I recently bought Leopard Print kitten heel courts from Next (their forever comfort range) and they are incredibly comfortable.

Look great with a dress or jeans and I don’t feel like I’m going to fall over in them!)

Fresta · 10/05/2019 18:40

Pleasers? Wow- do people actually wear shoes like that in London restaurants? They don't look very mainstream!

fancynancyclancy · 10/05/2019 19:40

DameFanny Have you worn SW? They are very padded & well made.

I have these & they are comfortable. Im not even a big heel wearer, only ever wear them for certain events & not for work.

They also do half sizes which I love as the fit is better.

WhatOnPlanetEarth · 10/05/2019 19:52

Fresta some people do! Helen Mirren likes them under a long dress for height Smile

Flyinggeese · 10/05/2019 20:28

I’m a lover of high heels myself but am really surprised at some of the suggestions on here for walking around London!

OP could something like this work with your dress?

Or... if the event is later in the year, wedge sandals could work...
