Clinique charging for testers

My daughter was thinking of trying clinique foundation, but as it is quite expensive asked if they had any testers, they charged her £3 ,i have never heard of any other brands charging,
Has anyone else come across this,
I have had testers from Boots no 7 and never been charged

I've not heard of it either. Perhaps it's to deter CF from getting lots of samples instead of buying what they already know they want.

That's ridiculously expensive for a splodge of foundation. I often bring my own little plastic container with me if there's a particular foundation I want to try. Never been charged.
