Day to evening look - work then London dinner

Have a busy day coming up, work in the morning and then out for drinks and dinner date.

I want to look good, but won't have the chance to change. No work dress code as such.

Have bought this dress - www.asos.com/asos-curve/asos-design-curve-pleated-shoulder-pencil-dress/prd/9227950?

Wondered if for day I could wear a black fabric biker jacket style and pointed snake skin flats, and then just take off the jacket and add some lipstick and ready for evening?

I’m not sure about the day look, wouldn’t you get a bit hot and want to take the jacket off? I would probably wear a cardigan and a scarf with flats for daytime. But the evening look sounds good with some simple jewellery.

You won't really be able to wear a jacket with that dress and the dropped shoulder/sleeve. Looks kind of winged so you won't get your arm in a jacket.

Whereabouts in London are you going to in the evening? I work in London but wouldn’t say people are that dressed up for the evening. Maybe black trousers to work and a smarter top at night or heels vs flats in the day. It’s a nice dress but I probably wouldn’t wear that to a basic work dinner unless somewhere v swanky.
Have fun.

It's a nice dress but I wouldn't wear anything sleeveless that shows off shoulders at work. So unless you can wear a jacket/ Cardi then I wouldn't.

That dress is quite fancy for work, and much smarter than I would wear for evening unless it was a super-swanky occasion. Maybe I am a total scruff. It’s a lovely dress though.

Thanks for the feedback, I've decided to wear a black jumpsuit instead, more practical but still cleavage.

I will unleash the dress another day!
