colouringinpro · 07/05/2019 12:20

Ditto

I prefer the Madrid style but rarely have I found a cheaper version comfy. Although I did get a pair from Desigual which were great. Can't remember if they were cheaper though.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 07/05/2019 12:25

Sorry I appreciate thats no help

But i love mine

Greyworm · 07/05/2019 13:23

I saw some in home bargains. But they did not look comfy! Maybe too cheap? What about fatface?

twilightcafe · 07/05/2019 13:29

I have a pair of Fatface copies. I've had them barely a year and the cork sole is disintegrating. I'll stick with original Birkenstocks.

DaisyBD · 07/05/2019 13:41

A couple of years ago I bought a pair of identikit mayaris from somewhere else (can't remember where now but as I can't recommend them it doesn't really matter) - they were just over half the price of proper birkenstock mayaris but so shit I've barely worn them. They're really uncomfortable and rub badly, it's just not worth the saving.

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 07/05/2019 13:47

It sounds like I'm going to have to folk out for the real deal..

They're cheaper on amazon or in tk Maxx but I'm not sure about that paricular model.

user1474894224 · 07/05/2019 22:10

It's definitely best to get your first pair in a store. They come in 2 widths and you need to get the right one. Once you know how to identify the widths you can buy from a cheaper source. (Loads on Amazon are narrow but don't specify it in the description).

goose1964 · 07/05/2019 22:14

I have this exact pair, they go with everything thanks to the iridescence

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 07/05/2019 22:33

And you can get them resoled as it were

The first pair of birkenstocks i bought were painful to break in

But i think to be fair that instead of my feet breaking them in...they broke my feet in Grin

Ive never had a problem since...because I obviously now have birkenstock feet!!

Alabasterangel6 · 07/05/2019 22:40

Moshulu do variations on the theme. They last forever. I have a pair like this and they’re 3 years old and just like new. Several styles and colours too. www.moshulu.co.uk/wilma-2-toe-post-cork-footbed-sandals.html

colouringinpro · 08/05/2019 21:23

goose which ones?! I like the sound of irridescence Smile

goose1964 · 08/05/2019 21:33

The one in the original post

chasingseagulls · 09/05/2019 07:45

I don't get Birkenstock dupes. The whole point of the Birkenstock footbed is the orthopaedic qualities they offer, with quality materials to support this feature. That's what you're paying for.

Amazon have that exact style on Prime Wardrobe (so they won't be fakes, and they offer try before you buy). They price difference isn't much to the Birkenstock website but Amazon prices fluctuate all the time, so maybe keep checking. I got some Tevas recently for £30, when I checked again they had gone up to £36.
