Bought some lovely, seem free, no show knickers from uniqlo. I got the sizing mixed up and they are a little too big and ride up - will tumble drying work or ruin the elasticity?

It will ruin elasticity. That's why knickers (and anything with elastic, really) are not suitable for dryers. Manmade fibers disintegrate in temp above 30 degrees Celsius.

i tumble dry all my pants. Have not got the time to hang out 6 people's worth of pants!

Mine and M&s and they are fine, I replace about every 3/4 years
They tend to get holey before ethe elastic goes

just tumble dry them, they'll be fine

maybe replace every other year, or sooner as necessary
