Plus size graduation dress

I'm due to graduate this summer and I have no idea what to wear - something fairly smart but I want to be able to rewewr in future (as workwear maybe or for parties depending on what I go for). Im an 18-20, 5'6, large stomach, early 20s.

Happy to hear suggestions of other sites, max budget around 40 quid, although being able to use the gift card would be awesome.

That first dress, the black one, is only £10. I'd snap it up anyway at that price even if you eventually choose another.

It's a few years since I graduated but black/white was always traditional. These are all nice.

That first one is perfect - and for £10 I’d go for it . Very little of the dress shows under the gown anyway.

Thanks, managed to track down something that said "subdued and smart" so think the blue one is out, although I love that colour it's not very subdued. Have ordered the black in a couple of sizes, hope it looks nice in person.

Had discussed my sister making me one (she makes herself some lovely dresses) but I'm so self-concioiys about my weight, I don't want her measuring me.

This is what it looks like on. Do we think this is ok? And also would you wear this to a job interview or not smart enough?

Thank you - as a non-dress wearer (my last one was for my school prom 4 years ago but I wish I had an excuse to wear that again) I was amazed at just how comfy it is! And just below the knee so you can't see too much of my awful legs. Think I'm keeping this one!

Forgot to say congratulations on your graduation and good luck with the interviews .

I watched graduation as a staff member last years and can honestly say around 50% of the females dressed as if they were going clubbing and I did think and inappropriate!!!

Remember your gown hides 90% of what you wear so focus on something that you will feel comfortable in for interviews and doesn't look like you're about to go out hardcore partying and on the pull.

I came home and told my eldest I'd like to vet what she chooses to wear for graduation after that experience 😆

Tip: If wearing a dress, take a safety pin to discreetly pin down the V of the hood to your dress or dress & bra otherwise it will ride up and strangle you. Men don't usually have that problem because they wear a tie.
