Its my wedding anniversary coming up (20years!) and I might be getting a new bag

i'm not sure whether to go for
www.fjallraven.co.uk/shop/fjallraven-totepack-no1-F24203/
or
www.fjallraven.co.uk/shop/fjallraven-kanken-17-F27173/

does anyone know the differences between? which one I should go for (if either)

You are my kind of people. :)

I have a Kånken, the all-black one Grin but before that I did consider the tote. I have a friend who has the smaller version of the tote. I decided against it because on the whole it wasn’t as practical imo. I like the padded straps of the kånken and hat the zip opens up the whole big compartment. There’s more digging in a hole with the tote and the straps aren’t as nice. But depends on your needs. If you need a backpack I’d go for a proper one iyswim.

I use the totepack as my work bag (I'm a teacher) and I love the fact that you can carry it as a shopper or convert it to a backpack. It's big enough to fit a thinnish a4 file in and a couple of books. I find it comfortable as a backpack but as pp said, it's probably not as comfy as a proper one. It's pretty sturdy too, I often end up picking up a few bits from the supermarket and carry them home I it. I have the grey and black one and a year and a half later it's still in really good condition.

It also fits everything else I need day to day - water bottle, sunglasses, diary, large wallet, pencil case and a mountain of other crap.

DD has the Kanken in a dark olive green. She used it at 6th form and uses it for weekends away. The quality is streets ahead of anything else she has ever owned. It cost a good deal less than buying it direct, so it is worth looking around for deals.

thanks all, am leaning towards the KÃ¥nken 17"

I love my Kanken, it's not as large as that one linked though. I don't use it everyday, more my go-to for holidays or days out, I don't regret the purchase, it really does hold a lot!

I had absolutely no interest in Kanken but clicked on your link out of interest and have now bought a limited edition one for my DD's 18th birthday. Just got to find somewhere to hide it for the next 6 months Grin

just ordered an Ox blood 17 inch one, £95.06 from Amazon, was £105.90 direct..... Hmm

Which design did you go for @WhatHaveIFound ?

Purple with a rainbow trim. I'd seen the blue one in Schuh but knew it wasn't really her colour. This one is perfect!
