I have only recently started taking care of my skin. Previously it was a quick Simple face wipe or quick going over with some micelles and the occasional throw on of moisturiser.

Now I

Morning

hot cloth cleanser (Superdrug Naturally Radiant or Boots No 7 Protect & Perfect)

Then Naturally Radiant Glycolic Toner

Then Superdrug Optimum Skin Renew Serum

Then Protect & Perfect intense Advanced Day Cream

At night

Hot cloth cleanser

Nip Fab Glycolic Gentle Pads

No 7 Protect & Perfect intense advanced night cream

My skin is prone to blotches blackheads and blemishes and had lots of fine lines and some age spots, all of which has improved with this skincare regime. I rarely get a spot now, any blocked pores are easily popped out, my age spots are fading slightly and the lines certainly not increasing.

Would anyone recommend any improvements to this / different products etc?

Needs to be around the same budget as products already used and I'm 39 with pale skin, occasionally sensitive.

Tia

That's about the same as mine.
I'd possibly add a vit C serum. That, and the glycolic is what's made the most difference to my skin..

Thanks @TheCanterburyWhales

Would you replace the morning serum with a Vitamin C one?

Or add a separate vitamin C serum to the evening products?

I see people mentioning SPF also. How and when would you incorporate this?

I use Frezyderm spf 50 primer which is fab. I've also used Biore Watery Essence spf 50 in the past and I also rate that.
I tend to use Vit C in the evening, but that's because I'm always dashing out of the door in the morning and do very little other than throw Frezyderm and foundation in the direction of my face!
My evening routine is:
Hot cloth cleanse (on rotation I have Liz Earle, Body Shop Chamomile, and Boots Botanics balm which I like in hotter weather. I've also just finished a tube of Superdrug Vit E. )
Glycolic toner- am using up a bottle of Pixi at the moment, which is good, but I won't rebuy, I prefer Nip &Fab
Vit C serum (love Vichy)
Then Vichy 89 hyaluronic acid serum (am loving this, others I like are the n7 you mentioned, the n7 lift and luminate, Nip & Fab Dragon's Blood, nip & fab no needle fix. I have hated everything by the Ordinary)
Then last thing Estée Lauder advanced night repair. I also have the Korean dupe of that and alternate them.
Glop on some blue Nivea last off and a few drops of oil. Just finished Body Shop oils of life which is a repeat purchase and the oil which really plumps my skin.

I use mineral make up with SPF in it but wasn't sure if that was enough.

I also have some Dr Botanicals Moroccan Rose Superfood Facial Oil but I'm not sure how and when to use it?

No, you need a separate sunscreen as any sunscreen contained in either a make up or a cream is kind of diluted by its carrier, so even if you slapped a load of the cream or make up on, you wouldn't have enough sunscreen on iyswim?
Oils should be the last thing on, after your moisturiser. Just rub a bit in your hands and smooth it on. Or a few drops into your moisturiser.

dancemom · 05/05/2019 22:38

How and where do I fit in an SPF product?

Last off on top of your moisturiser. I use Frezyderm.

Yy to SPF.

You could also try Garden of Wisdom vit c inbetween the nip + fab and night cream. It’s a good starter vit c.
