milestone anniversary this year, so i chose this! It’s so beautiful. I am very lucky.

Oh, it’s not a diamond! We’re not millionaires - it’s a stone called morganite which is very popular in the states but harder to get here, and set in rose gold. Morganite varies from quite a pale pink (like this) to deeper and peachier shades. It was about £600

It’s for 25 years (you can tell by how old my hands look!) - I know silver is traditional, but I didn’t want a silver ring!

Just thinking how much nicer the style and beauty board is than lots of other boards on mumsnet. Just read a thread on aibu where an op was asking if a dress she'd bought was suitable for a wedding. So many horrible replies totally slating the dress. If you'd posted a thread about this ring on aibu asking 'am I being unreasonable to love my new ring' you'd be ripped to shreds!!

Agree Scarlett - it’s a silly thing in lots of ways, but I love what it represents and it’s so pretty! I knew th S&B ladies would understand.
