Selling my Louis Vuitton Collection .... not eBay !

Makinbaconpancakes · 03/05/2019 13:37

Hey,

So I have three items from Louis Vuitton I want to sell ..... very shamefully wasted money on them and don't use them so want to see them with someone who will enjoy them however I don't use eBay and would rather sell to someone who genuinely wants them and can see them in the flesh first .....

Any ideas how / where I can do this ??

One of them is a handbag that has only been used three times so it's quite valuable as it's mint condition and I know there will be people out there who want it

I also have all boxes and receipts

Please don't flame me, I am well aware there are better things I could spend my money on but I am coming to the realisation that items won't make me happy, I have to make me happy !

Sell it on FB marketplace. No selling fees and more likely a local person will buy and collect

Sexnotgender · 03/05/2019 13:39

What about a reseller?

I’ve used labelsmostwanted and the lady that runs it is lovely.

JenMumma · 03/05/2019 13:41

Makinbaconpancakes · 03/05/2019 13:41

Woah thanks for the replies ! Didn't expect so many replies so quickly !

I want to stay away from Fb marketplace as I don't want any family to see that I'm flogging my money away !

Will look at the others tho Smile

Vestiaire Collective? Or look for designer swapshops local to you?

www.harpersbazaar.com/uk/fashion/what-to-wear/news/a34512/the-best-designer-resale-sites/

Laodamia · 03/05/2019 13:42

I wouldn't sell it on FB.

KatesMott · 03/05/2019 13:43

I know you said you’d like people to see them in the flesh first but www.vestiairecollective.com/?gclsrc=aw.ds&&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIlevGsbD_4QIVz7vtCh00jgTtEAAYASAAEgLRgPD_BwE and what used to be buy my wardrobe www.hardlyeverwornit.com/mywardrobe-activate are decent for online sales.

In terms of ‘in the flesh’ most cities and some towns have upscale designer resale shops. Where are you based?

As an aside having the original dust bag, receipt, certificate of authenticity etc helps a lot to get the best price when selling.

Makinbaconpancakes · 03/05/2019 13:45

@KatesMott I'm based in Devon - not exactly the fashion capital of the uk !

I do have all the dust bags, labels, boxes, receipts etc I just feel they're wasted on me say not being used and I could put that money to so much better use now

There are closed groups on FB - so no-one can see who isn't in the group - which specialise in Mulberry and Vuitton resale - they are tightly monitored and you can't sell bags there without receipt/authentication, so people take them seriously and pay top prices. Definitely worth a look!

KatesMott · 03/05/2019 13:50

@Makinbaconpancakes bear in mind as well that using any third party to sell means you will end up paying commission so worth shopping around (pun not intended 🙄) to see who takes the least as it can add up on expensive items.

A quick search shows this place in Exeter www.myexwardrobe.co.uk/

JenMumma · 03/05/2019 13:52

@Makinbaconpancakes yaaay !!! 🙂 xx

tired1245 · 03/05/2019 13:55

Sinead the actual point of this thread to try to sell your bags here?

user1474894224 · 03/05/2019 14:01

So.....not Sinead....

BirdieInTheHand · 03/05/2019 14:04

Vestiaire is best, although they do charge a fairly hefty commission.

Given that most "high end" fakes come with dustbags, receipts and authenticity cards selling through a channel that authenticates gives buyers more confidence and prevents you getting scammed.

Makinbaconpancakes · 03/05/2019 14:05

No, was looking for advice on if anyone knew of anywhere I could or had experience in selling items like that Hmm

OP posts:
Makinbaconpancakes · 03/05/2019 14:06

@BirdieInTheHand thank you - yeah that's my concern as well, don't want people thinking I'm flogging fakes - I know that's what happens a lot on eBay so that's one of the reason I want to stay clear of it

JenMumma · 03/05/2019 14:11

Thanks @Makinbaconpancakes xx I'll do some googling 🙂 xx

SpeckledyHen · 03/05/2019 18:20

Another recommendation for Labels Most Wanted .

MorticiaAddamsIsMyStyleGuru · 03/05/2019 18:38

Try www.npn.co.uk
It an online shop called Naughtipidgins Nest

Shian is wonderful. I've sold four items with her. Chanel, 2 x Gucci and Prada. I got an excellent price and none of the hassle of selling. She is on instagram too.

Happy to answer any questions you may have. I'm not in any way associated with the business. Just a very satisfied customer. Good luck.
