Fringe decision needed- with pic

I've moved from a pixie cut to hair below my shoulders with a side part and all one length.

Thinking of keeping it long but softening with some long layers and a soft side fringe. I had a wrinkly forehead and it looks severe tied back

Will I live in regret it I go for a fringe?

No fringe.

Honeybooboo123 · 02/05/2019 16:21

Why?

OP posts:
DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 02/05/2019 16:22

I think it falls really nicely as it is and just needs tidying up at the bottom, sides.

Aquamarine1029 · 02/05/2019 16:25

No fringe.

Honeybooboo123 · 02/05/2019 16:26

Yes it's just sort of grown and I have really thick hair and a bit wavy.

If your hair is thick and wavy might it be difficult to style a fringe? I have straight hair and still found it a faff. Currently growing mine out!

DontCallMeShitley · 02/05/2019 16:45

If you do have a fringe I think it would need to be a wispy one, but I do think you need to get a new foundation, that one is rather yellow toned for your skin.

GiveMeFiveMinutes · 02/05/2019 16:45

No fringe.

Your hair looks similar to mine -is it naturally wavy with a tendency to frizz in the rain? If so, a fringe will look terrible in anything other than dry, non humid conditions, and only then after styling.

IDontMindAnythingWillDo · 02/05/2019 16:47

Don’t get a fringe. They’re a pain in the arse to maintain and a swiped-to-the-side-over-the-forehead fringe is a bit 2006.

Your hair looks great as it is tbh.

Honeybooboo123 · 02/05/2019 16:49

Yeah never been great with foundation Grin

Ok there seems to be a consensus developing.

Noooo don't do it

cockadoodledooooo · 02/05/2019 17:01

Ignore the foundation comment, I think the yellow coloured in face has altered your skin tone!

Pinkarsedfly · 02/05/2019 17:03

I bloody love my fringe. I’ve had one my whole life and feel totally naked without it.

Pinkarsedfly · 02/05/2019 17:04

Sorry, OP, I meant to say, go for it!

goose1964 · 02/05/2019 17:54

I have wavy hair and last time I had a fringe it curled right up so it was less than half the length.

MrsCatnip · 02/05/2019 18:03

I recently had one cut in for the exact same wrinkly reasons you describe. I'm mid 40s and love it. I have also noticed I seem to get a lot more glances from men than I used to; perhaps it does make me look younger / less severe?

Honeybooboo123 · 02/05/2019 18:26

I was thinking Reese Witherspoon side fringe not a full on curtain

OP posts:
MrsCatnip · 02/05/2019 18:39

Go for if; you can easily grow out a side fringe into layered hair if you don't like it.

flowery · 02/05/2019 18:46

I’ve had a side swept fringe for years, and the area underneath it is noticeably less wrinkly than the area which isn’t covered. Which is a waste because it means the nice bit isn’t on show and the wrinkly bit is!

Honeybooboo123 · 02/05/2019 18:54

If only I had kept my childhood thick fringe!

I know, me too! Just think how smooth and wrinkle-free my (whole) forehead would now be!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/05/2019 08:22

I'm growing out a Pixie (takes a while and the Mullet Stage flatters no-one) now I am collar-length and thinking the same
"Hmmmm Fringe? Cheaper than botox and I'll look younger"

But my hair is wavy and I really CBA with a whispy growing out fringe . I can't go for a thick fringe I'd look like Dora the Explorer Hmm

obviouslymarvellous · 03/05/2019 08:25

Side fringe - I have a small forehead and wavy hair yet I love mine - hides all the wrinkles too that have appeared now i am deep into my 40s x

Honeybooboo123 · 03/05/2019 08:58

Thinking like this?

How annoying will you find it when it falls into your face? That pic of RW looks all natural but that's about and hour and a half at the hairdresser's. I have hair like yours and every time I have a fringe I instantly regret it. Depends how patient you are about growing it out if you don't like it. Please update when you've had it done !
