Comfortable/stylish trainers or flat shoes help please

I have an event to go to later this month where there is quite a lot of walking involved. I will need to wear a dress and look fairly smart and usually I would wear a low heeled shoe, however, I have hurt the nail on one of my toes badly and can't wear my heeled shoes at all. It looks pretty bad and so I don't want to wear sandals.

I was wondering if you might have any ideas of trainers that might look ok with a dress please?

I did find some Joules trainers that I liked and thought might be OK - unfortunately they rub on the toe though as they are quite rigid at the end.

I thought trainers might be better than general flat shoes because they might have a bit more space for toes at the end.

Thank you very much for any thoughts you might have.

Something wide fit probably with lots of toe wiggle room. Try Geox or Hotter. I would get some kind of ballerina or mary-jane but depends what dress you are wearing and how much walking you are doing.

Fitflop might be the answer. I'm a recent convert & they are definitely wide around the toes and well-cushioned.

Genuinely fitflop! I do trade shows and since buying their silver/gold trainers my life for my feet is much easier!!!!! They have ballets too. I’m so hoping they choose to give me £100 to spend via mn 😁

Thank you both very much. Fitflop looks like a good idea. I will try some and see if they fit.

An earlier poster suggested Fitflops trainers. I have that exact pair but In white. Have bought them for a trip to NY where we'll be walking a lot. Can highly recommend them - very supportive under foot and stylish too.

I've just bought my most comfortable and (IMO) stylish pair of trainers by a brand called Arigato. Mine are white with a silver trim, bought from Selfridges last month and I love them.

Thank you. I will look at those as well.
