Skin purging glycolic acid?

I have been using one of the Nip and Fab glycolic cleansers for a few days and have got a few painful hard bumps.

I had the same issue with the superdrug glycolic range, which I stopped using as put it down to a reaction to the brand, but now I’m not sure. I’ve used Pixi glow tonic before as well which gave me small spots to start with but nothing like this.

The bumps are on my forhead, where I’d normally have blackheads anyway. With the superdrug stuff I just stopped using it straight away, but after readig about purging, I can’t quite decide if it’s a thing and I should carry on with the cleanser?

Glycolic acid did this to me. I persevered and it never stopped so I figured it didn't agree with me and abandoned it. I swapped to witch hazel and salicylic acid.

Thanks. Google tells me ‘purging’ can last 2 months, so I’m not sure if I can wait that log to find out if it’s just a bad reaction or not..
