Confession time- I have been buying too many clothes recently and need to break the habit. I'm chronically unwell and have been pity purchasing for myself Blush but now need to stop. I have enough! Not in debt or anything but no more room in my wardrobe and it's all a bit cluttered in there.
Please can you encourage me not to browse on eBay (my weak spot) or look at sales online? I don't make it out to the shops much so no danger there. Thanks

gotmychocolateimgood · 29/04/2019 15:26

Hi dreamingofsun, thanks for joining. Sales are extremely tempting for me. I need to unsubscribe from emails I think.

I know it's still April but I went into one of my favourite clothes shops today and I didn't buy anything 💪

Well start again tomorrow 🙂 you can still have a no spend May! I won't ask what you bought as I'll look and probably want it.

I have the same issue! I am forever buying things I don't need. Yesterday was my last day of spends. So fingers crossed we can all have a no spends May Except from the essentials 😉

gotmychocolateimgood · 30/04/2019 20:25

Hi Fireborn, thanks for joining us.
I browse online when I'm bored and a bit low. I have a nasty chronic illness (ME) and I'm not able to do many of the things I used to enjoy. I have lots of time at my disposal but very little energy so end up on my phone too much. When I see things I like, I tell myself I'd be silly not to buy them at such a cheap price so I press checkout. I like having parcels delivered, it cheers me up! I need a displacement activity. My memory and concentration are very poor and physically I can't manage much either. Any words of wisdom gratefully received.

I should do this but not sure I can bring myself to commit... Blush

Don't spend that much money but do spend waaay too much time looking at stuff online!

gotmychocolateimgood · 30/04/2019 20:31

I spend small amounts but several times a week so it does add up. Not proud of this!

I'm in! I'm redecorating my bedroom at the moment so really need to save any money for that. Plus taking all my clothes out of my wardrobe has made me realize I have far to many clothes.

Michaelbaubles · 01/05/2019 18:21

I’m up for this! Set myself a spending limit in January and have already broken it 😳. I really really don’t need anything at all and I could do with whacking some more money in savings, so here goes!

gotmychocolateimgood · 01/05/2019 18:34

Welcome Allthepinkunicorns and Michaelbaubles.

Today I have not bought anything! So far so good.

I'm four months in to a no-spend year. I have given myself space to replace essentials which includes the odd white T shirt and underwear, and allow myself vintage and second hand items. I'm fussy about everything being in good condition, and would replace toiletries etc. I have bought just one new item: a little square scarf in red, navy and green to replace one I gave as a souvenir to a friend's daughter. The colours were so good at linking my clothes visually, I missed it as an accessory.

RezCowgirl · 01/05/2019 21:04

I'm uninstalling all the spendy apps right now including Google pay. Just too damn easy to wave it at the machine that drinks my money. Hmm

Miseryisabutterfly · 01/05/2019 21:22

I’m going to join you too!

Miseryisabutterfly · 01/05/2019 21:23

I feel I’m cheating slightly. I spent a shitload in April, so I don’t really need anything 😂 I will decide I need something next week and resist though...

gotmychocolateimgood · 02/05/2019 13:31

I cracked. Goddammit... Found something I really liked and bought it. Only £15 but still. I can't take it back, it's perfect!

Starting again on no spend

I nearly crumbled yesterday on some leggings but I put my phone down and did not buy them! I'm still resisting the urge. This is going to be hard Confused

gotmychocolateimgood · 03/05/2019 10:45

Well done Allthepinkunicorns you can do it!

I’m going strong here - I’ve bought absolutely nothing except food this month so far! Not even a coffee out!
