Any good new tubing mascaras?

I have a real issue with Mascara - hooded eyes and oily skin means to smudges really bad - waterproof ones are worse as they still smudge but then it doesn't easily wipe off when I'm out and about!
Tubing mascara is best for me, I've tried a few:
-NYX - ok but does not give me the volume I need, also starts to clump when it's been opened.

  • Estee Lauder double wear - still smudges by the end of the day!
  • Loreal Beauty tubes (the red and white one with the primer and black ends) - this is the best so far, volume and staying power wise - but I find it hard to apply and get spider lashes from it.

Any other suggestions? Any of the other loreal ones tubing?

i used to use the Blinc tubing mascara which was fantastic, nothing else I’ve tried has come close, but the last one I bought didn’t seem as good. I’ve tried the No 7 one and the L’Oreal one, and wasn’t impressed with either. The Blinc set quickly and could be layered over more volumising or lengthening mascara and didn’t budge all day, unlike most on my greasy skin and hooded eyes! I spent ages traipsing round Superdrug and Boots and asked staff who didn’t know what I was talking about, and it’s hard to find out whether the mascara is tubing- the only clue is when it specifies to use water to remove! I’m going to give the new Maybelline one a go next.

I’ve never used a tubing mascara but have always had terrible trouble with smudging
I now use Bobbi brown no smudge. That bad boy does not move.
I recommended this to my friend who also rubs her eyes a lot. Doesn’t. Move.
Only issue is that you need a decent waterproof makeup remover to shift it 😄

Place marking because I’m still in search of the perfect tubing mascara (which I suspect does not actually exist). Thanks all.

I used to use one of the Estee Lauder tubing mascaras (Volume one I think) but it's been discontinued and I've struggled to find anything to match it. I'm currently using the Eyeko one (the sample from the M&S calendar) and I'm quite impressed. I think I may get a full size one and maybe splurge on the Trish McEvoy one as well!

Don’t get Benefit “they’re real” as it’s not giving and made me look like a heroin addict

Clinique Lash power every time

*tubing

Not giving

BroomstickOfLove · 01/05/2019 13:30

Clinique Lash Power is lovely, and perfect for daytime wear, but sometimes I'd like something with a bit more oomph for evening glamour.

whitershadeofpale · 03/05/2019 13:11

Just wanted to update on Snapscara, it doesn't come off in complete tubes, more like little flakes so I'm a touch confused on the formula. What I will say is that it acts exactly like a tubing mascara, no smudges at all, good length and darkness-not fantastic volume, but all tubing mascaras are like this.

I'm going out later so wanted some extra volume so I layered it over a normal lancome one and it hasn't budged and looks good.

I put that on at 7 this morning and haven't touched up my makeup at all.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 03/05/2019 13:17

I much prefer that type of tubing mascara as the proper tubes sort of pinch my eyelashes and feel uncomfortable- No7 gold tube was awful!

NoBaggyPants · 03/05/2019 13:18

Snapscara doesn't claim to be a tubing mascara.

You have lovely eyes!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 03/05/2019 13:21

Clean, clump-free volume in a snap.
-100% wax-free formula for pure colour intensity.
-Flake-free. Smudge-proof. All day wear

Oil free

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 03/05/2019 13:21

It's on my list to try when I have finished my current mascara.

whitershadeofpale · 03/05/2019 13:28

It doesn't but there seems to be some confusion about if it is or not as lots of actual tubing mascaras don't explicitly say that's what they are. It does say that it doesn't smudge and to remove just with water, which is often a sign it's tubing.

I'm not 100% convinced it is, but it definitely acts like one and is cheaper and easier to get than the DHC one, so I'm a fan.

Thanks, for the compliment Smile I've been anaemic and had terrible dark circles lately so seeing a huge eye is slightly odd!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 03/05/2019 13:30

If you Google tubing mascaras UK then it comes up.

JeremyIronsBenFolds · 03/05/2019 13:30

Another vote for DHC tubing mascara. It's a genuine tubing mascara and gives good length and volume, I find - though it does set quickly so I can't ever put more than one coat on. I love the thin small brush too, great for doing the lower lashes.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 03/05/2019 13:31

I like the Revlon Multiplier as well as my normal Maybelline Collosal, I get huge fake looking lashes with it and wipes off so easily, amazing stuff.

megletthesecond · 03/05/2019 13:39

hugo scary point. It's not going to disintegrate in the water supply is it Sad. Tubing mascara is the only one I use.

This would never have happened if Revlon hadn't discontinued their 3 day lash tint a deacde ago. bitter.

BertBox · 03/05/2019 14:08

I can't remember who recommended this
mascara, but it's the best one I've used in ages, and costs the princely sum of £1.79. The brush is a bit scary, but it does go on well, stays on, and doesn't smudge. I'm not completely sure it's tubing, but I have horrendous problems finding decent mascara, and would recommend this over ones that cost £20plus.

NotquitewhatImeant · 03/05/2019 14:17

I got the Rodial xxl glam lash one free with red magazine and really like it. Fluttery and hasn’t smudged yet. Definitely tubing too only comes off with warm water and a flannel. Even Micellar doesn’t really budge it. I liked it so much I bought another magazine to get it a bargain price.

Also didn’t particularly like the benefit they’re real one. Smudged in 15 mins on me.

I’m going to try a few of the recommendations on here - useful thread OP. Thanks!

NigellaAwesome · 03/05/2019 21:24

Am I the only one who has tried Trish McEvoy?

I rave about it to everyone I know. Also, her eye base essentials is absolutely amazing. Fab eye primer and brightener that can be used on its own. And her brushes!!!

LucilleBluth · 04/05/2019 09:03

Clinique lash power....the only one that works for me. I've tried loads

Jarstastic · 05/05/2019 23:06

Trish Mcevoy curling Ive been using for years. Fantastic effect and totally smudge free. I like the look of the Clinique but smudge makes on me! I’m currently using Dior curling mascara which I like the effect of and didn’t smudge but not sure if it’s strictly tubing.

Nigella I also love TM planners and brushes etc. My favourite is an old leather planner they don’t do now. Love an evening cleaning and shuffling things around. But I’ve got a couple of suqqu brushes now..

SlipperOrchid · 05/05/2019 23:29

Where can I buy the Trish McEvoy mascara? Is it definitely tubing?
