Are these nice or hideous??

So I have quite bad bunions, and also sweaty feet (I am quite a catch, honestly!😂)

These shoes appear to be the answer to my prayers! They hide/help straighten my hideous bunions and are open aired and also appear to be supportive. But my question is do they look odd?? Do they look exactly like I'm trying to hide a bunion???

They are £16 if that makes any difference. On eBay.

I think they are ok, I quite like them in the beige colour, the rest not so much.

IsolaPribby · 28/04/2019 14:34

I like them, but I'm not the most stylish when it comes to shoes.

If they are comfortable and you like them, then go for it!

Greenglassteacup · 28/04/2019 14:36

Hideous

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 28/04/2019 14:36

I really like them.

slowdownplease · 28/04/2019 14:40

Ok, a few different responses! Next question-what age do you think they would suit best?

TSSDNCOP · 28/04/2019 14:40

Given what you need them for they're ok in the tan.

Shelbybear · 28/04/2019 14:42

Hideous!!! Don't buy them please!

Oh the big toe looks more noticeable and then the other ones being out too. Just plain weird. They look so wrong. Either toe post or enclosed but not a both of both! 🤢

slowdownplease · 28/04/2019 14:43

Oh my, look!!!😂😂. Think I'll go for the leopard ones, yes??

I wouldn't call them hideous but not keen on the gold and silver ones but I don't like gold and silver shoes anyway.
The taupe coloured ones are OK but I'd only wear them with long or cropped jeans/pants, as in the photo. Not with a skirt or dress

Shelbybear · 28/04/2019 14:44

Age wise I would say 50 plus

Bloomburger · 28/04/2019 14:44

I'd wear the silver ones with linen turn ups. Think they're more attractive than any fitflops or some of the disgusting thjngs people ask about on here.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 28/04/2019 14:44

They are sandals, personally they're right up my street ,if they fit and are comfy then buy them. I wore something similar at 20 while travelling and wear similar now I'm in my 40's. I also know older women who wear similar.

Get a Sharpie and write Saltwater on them and they'll be the next MN must have Wink

NoBaggyPants · 28/04/2019 14:44

I don't dislike them. But suited to someone 70+.

Bloomburger · 28/04/2019 14:44

Leopard ones are truly hideous though

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 28/04/2019 14:45

Tbh I can't imagine they'll be very comfy for £16.

slowdownplease · 28/04/2019 14:45

In all seriousness. I've found black or Khaki ones for £10 now, seems there is a sale.

I'm 30, is that bad?!

ElspethFlashman · 28/04/2019 14:46

Jennifer Aniston has something similar. Tbh they look a bit odd on even her. Like they've been made wrong.

Have you checked out Birkenstocks? There are a couple of styles that really obscure bunions, the Florida and the Mayari ones in particular. It's not that they cover up the bunions, it's more that you don't notice them that much because of the design.

Rooftree · 28/04/2019 14:47

They’re absolutely fine

Orchidflower1 · 28/04/2019 14:49

I like them- the beige and silver are best. Agree best with trousers/ shorts rather than a dress.

MyBlueMoonbeam · 28/04/2019 14:50

I actually quite like them but then I am 50 plus Grin
Tbf I think I would have at 30 - go for it OP Wink

slowdownplease · 28/04/2019 14:53

Thing is I've had toe posts before and just feel so self conscious, unless they have a huge flower on top or something which I can never find.
These just seem perfect, but I know what you mean about them just not quite looking right! Ahhhh decisions! I'd love to just have perfect feet and not worry about odd shoes. Thanks for the tip about Birkenstock's, I'll go and have a look.

To me, they are only just okay. Worn with linen trousers and something pared back and chic on top. With shorts, NO. With a skirt, also NO. Sorry, you did ask.

I am wondering if I am very very slowly developing a bunion myself - family history is pretty strong. Anyway one of the greymail newsletters (Emerald Street maybe?) had an article this week about Sole Bliss who do genuinely nice but rather spendy shoes for people with bunions. It's a bit of a relief to know that there are some out there.

Mumsnetters always seem to like Hotter shoes for comfort, which I think are irredeemably vile. Envy

Those birkenstocks do appear more fashionable, but the strap seems like it would be right across the bump on the bunion and therefore very painful, so unfortunately I don't think they would work. Thanks for the suggestions, I appreciate them. If I post a pic of my feet, will you honestly tell me how bad they are, please? (Honest, but gentle, please?)🤞🏼
