Laura Mercier vs Nars tinted moisturisers

I've been using Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser for several years and love it - good colour, doesn't sit in pores/lines etc, but am finding the coverage is a bit too sheer for me now - has anyone tried the Nars radiance tinted moisturiser & what do you think of it? And if you can suggest a shade for me (using Cameo in Laura M.) even better!

I use it and absolutely love it! I haven't tried the Laura mercier one though so can't compare. I bought it for going on holiday last year but now I wear it all the time. It's got really good coverage for a tinted moisturiser but feels so light on the skin. I only wear foundation now if I'm going out out which is a big change for me!

I actually found the Nars one even more sheer. I really like the LM one when it comes to a TM.

There is a Mac foundation in a dropper bottle that has buildable coverage but I find it similar in terms of lack of cakeiness to the LM.

I've worn the LM one for years and on a whim tried the Nars one a few months ago.

Found it awfully drying and unflattering; it sat in my pores and highlighted every single little line. It was also really drying.

Bobbi Brown May be a good alternative ?

Use findation.com to put in any colours of other foundations you use and it will match you to most of the other foundations available - amazing website!

I wear the no-oil LM tinted moisturiser. I find it goes on a bit denser than the ordinary LM one. It might be worth trying.

Thanks all! I found the oil-free LM too drying for my skin (despite having the usual oilier t-zone thing), so disappointed that the Nars is drying too. I've tried the Bare Minerals one - terrible! Patchy colour, sinks into pores & lines, oxidises - just awful (luckily it was from QVC so I can send it back for a refund :-) ). I'm currently using LM luminosity foundation for work but want something lighter for summer/weekends. Haven't looked at Bobbi Brown for years so will have a look - thankyou.

Tried Findation - 'Finland' is my NARS shade!

I wear moisturiser under my LM tinted moisturiser - sounds daft really but it’s not at all moisturising on its own, I don’t know why they call it that. It’s a sheer foundation really.

Plainandsimple · 28/04/2019 12:35

I wear moisturiser and primer under tinted moisturiser! No, I don't either - maybe its just to manage expectations of the coverage?

I have been moping all week at how haggard and patched my skin looks and today I wore the Nars TM out for lunch and can't believe how much fresher and glowy I look. I find it really does suit my mid 40s skin and hasn't settled in lines at all

violetbunny · 28/04/2019 19:54

If you find the oil free LM one too drying, try the LM radiance tinted moisturiser. It gives a beautiful glow and is more moisturising.
