Anyone ordered anything from Boohoo before?

Hi everyone,

Following on from another thread I started about maxi dresses - I've seen a couple that I like on Boohoo but I've never ordered from them before and have no idea what size I would be. I'm generally about a 16 and have really big boobs which is usually what causes the issue with dresses. Has anyone ordered from there before? How do you find their sizes? Do they come up particularly small or big?

Thanks

xx

Only for teenage DD. The fabrics are pretty cheap and see-through. It all went back.

GlitterUnixorn · 26/04/2019 08:21

Don't waste ur money Leggings are terribly see through u may aswell not wear non and the dresses are just the same depending on the fabric , risky , it's cheap because the clothes are cheap

I ordered a few bits for teen DD before we came on holiday, she loves it but the quality is really terrible. Size wise I got the size she usually is and it was a little big.

I recently ordered some maternity smock dresses in a size 12. Usually a 10. They were just right and two a little bit big but no problem as I'm having twins. I have ordered previous to being pregnant and you just have to be careful with what you order as some materials can look cheap but I've had plenty of good experiences as well shopping with them x

I have a gorgeous oversized jumper from Boohoo that I practically live in. I’ve had so many compliments and enquiries as to where I bought it. I’ve washed it several times and it still looks new, and sizing wasn’t an issue due to it being oversized.

I have however ordered 2 other jumpers, and whilst the sizing was fine, they didn’t appear to be of good quality so I returned them. I have also returned a dress from there, which fitted but looked like a condom on a beach ball, and as a result my skin was visible through the weave.

I think it may be a bit hit and miss. I’d order the dresses if I were you - you may be lucky. The returns are free, and they nearly always offer reductions on their postage. They had an offer of £1 standard delivery on men’s clothes the last time I ordered from there, so I ordered the cheapest men’s item I could find that qualified (£5), then just returned it and got a refund for it.

Thanks for the replies. I am going on holiday in a few weeks and really struggling to find anything that I look ok in and feel comfortable in because I have gained a lot of weight in the last year. Everything I have tried on just looks horrible - I have no shape, my stomach is my worst area and my boobs don't seem to fit in anything. Boohoo was a bit of a last resort.

These are the two I quite liked but no idea whether they would look ok...

I’ve ordered a few things. Very mixed on quality, but sizing is fine.

A dress for a wedding which was great for £20.

Some maternity t shirts and pj’s- not so great. The material was very thin and they went bobbly within about three seconds, but as they were so cheap and I only needed them for such a short period of time I wasn’t too bothered.

Funny you should post about Boohoo, I received a parcel from them today. I had ordered three things and one was out of stock, so reordered something else separately as they said my order was on its way. The reordered item arrived last Thursday, it took about a week. The original order only arrived today.

The green jacket does have longish sleeves as in the picture, I am usually a twelve but like jackets to be larger. The quality was good, I did think it could have been bigger at the front ie more material.

The coat has thick material with a different pattern on the inside. The quality was good and it fitted really well.

I ordered some everyday bits last week there done for wearing around. I wouldn't buy another for a special occasion though. Sizing seems true to size

limpbizkit · 26/04/2019 09:25

OK for 5 minute fashion bits but quality isn't good

cliquewhyohwhy · 26/04/2019 09:28

I have some maxi dresses from boohoo and they are great, can't complain.

ems137 · 26/04/2019 09:32

I buy a fair few things from boohoo for myself. Yes, it's not excellent quality but unfortunately I can't afford quality. I find it better than Primark for quality though and the sizing is fairly standard across their range. I would say the sizing is on the generous side. When I've ordered something for a specific even I've ordered 2 sizes and returned the one that didn't fit.

I like that dress OP and I would imagine it would be generous in size. If I were you I'd order a 16 and see how you get on.

5tarbar · 26/04/2019 09:46

@Gemi33
Both look like they have stretch in (from the details & care section). I suspect the first one might be quite short at the front depending on how much fabric your boobs occupy, but the best thing to do is try it and see! I've ordered from Boohoo before and it's definitely a mixed bag - some things are amazing, some things are awful - but returns are free if you hate something!

Gemi33 · 26/04/2019 09:50

Thanks all! I think I will order and see - boobs using up a lot of material is often the issue I have but I'm quite short so don't tend to have too much issue with length.

Have ordered several dresses and been very happy. Sizing is teeny tiny so def size up.

WatchingTheWheels85 · 26/04/2019 09:55

I have a few of their basic cami jumpsuits for wearing around the house they are extremely thin.

dontgobaconmyheart · 26/04/2019 11:44

I've ordered a couple of times- other than the very odd thing that's been ok it's been poor quality and looked really cheap in person- cheap print quality on price red stuff, weird shiny cheap looking fabrics, see through etc. I did keep the odd bit from both orders but I don't think I still have any of it a few years on.

I don't even think it's that cheap either, you can shop (if you're selective) in Primark, H&M, New look, Matalan or any of the supermarkets for similar prices and get better quality. I would say it's fine for fast fashion for teens, and probably the odd holiday clothing piece or jumper/beach dress but nothing else.

Sizing wise; true to size/often runs small and it varies with every item IMO
