What to wear to smart bar?

Help! My confidence in clothes is shot to bits, going for a drink in a smart bar tomorrow night. What do i wear? Cotton dress or jeans & top? Im curvy size 14, 5ft4. Any advice appreciated

I’m the same size as you. I would go for a nice dress to flatter your shape with some heels. I wouldn’t wear jeans to a smart bar to be honest.

It depends where you are. In more affluent areas, people don’t dress up as much to go out, and you’d look OTT in a dress and heels.

Yes, I'd go jeans and top....if you feel good in that. Obviously if you feel better in the dress, wear that but as pp above said, don't dress up too much, I don't think people bother too much these.

Yes I would do black skinny’s shirt / top heels and blazer with nice smart bag

I think jeans, a nice top and heels/heel boots would be perfect. I wouldn't go for a dress and heels, that would seem a bit ott. And I don't even think heels are necessary - as long as the top is nice/smart/you wear a smart jacket over, then that's enough to dress the jeans up

I think it depends on the area where the bar is. Where I live (east London), no-one wears heels to go out in.

I'd go with a dress. No heels. And avoid jeans.

Dress and boots is my go to. Casual enough to look like you could have worn it all day but smart enough to look like you made an effort - hedging bets!

I'm always in jeans in smart bars! But I always think London is less dressed up in general.

Skechers fan here - also fairly crippled by sciatica so needs must! I wear these with skinny ankle grazer jeans, a plain top usually scoop or boat neck and a blazer to my local bar.

It's cold and rainy here, so I would go for jeans / top / some jewellery for interest. People still dress up a bit on a Saturday here (not that I go out out often)
