Find me a dress!!!

HouseFullOfBunnies · 25/04/2019 19:39

I am fast running out of clothes - I need some new ones and I just can't ever find anything that suits me or fits me correctly.

Ideally, I like fit and flare/skater type dresses that I wear with tights and DMs in the autumn, winter, spring and can wear over cropped leggings and Birkenstocks in the summer.

I don't do heels or glamorous or sparkly or blingy... or stylish particularly... so I'm guessing style and beauty isn't really the place for me Wink

I tend to wear jersey fabrics because I find them comfortable. I find rigid cotton uncomfortable/restrictive and don't like wearing man made fabrics.

Over recent years, I've found Fat Face to do the most comfortable clothes but only their Camille style dresses have really fitted me perfectly. I bought a couple when they had them in a few years ago but they no longer do the style and I need some clothes!!

This is the style of dress. It fits me because I have quite a curvy figure - my current measurements are 40-31-40 so if something fits me on one part of my body it doesn't on another!

These dresses make my boobs look good. The wide-ish waist band highlights my comparitively small waist and it makes everything look in proportion. When I wear these dresses, I feel attractive. In anything else, I just look a bit frumpy.

Does anyone have any suggestions?? Thanks

www.boden.co.uk/en-gb/penelope-jersey-dress-navy/sty-j0334-nav
Currently 25% nice thick material too

OP may I ask where the dress you linked to is from?

HouseFullOfBunnies · 25/04/2019 20:19

StCharlotte it's a Fat Face one.

Thanks, Inliverpool1 They need to be crossover/wrap at the top though and I prefer it to have a tie at the waist so that i can make it fit better. I look a bit sack of spuds tied in the middle otherwise.

Have you tried Bravissimo? A lot of their stuff is horrible but they have the occasional decent dress. Any of these any good?

Navy wrap top dress

Black but long sleeved so no good for summer

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 25/04/2019 20:31

Or try Oasis, Warehouse or French Connection.

HouseFullOfBunnies · 25/04/2019 21:36

Thanks, Remus, that navy wrap dress is the kind of thing. I like that one.

Thanks. Will look at those too. I used to wear a fair bit of Oasis and Warehouse but then my boobs grew... Hmm

Boden Casual Jersey Dress

HouseFullOfBunnies · 25/04/2019 21:54

Thanks. I'd not considered Boden! Not sure I'm quite ready to head down that path yet... but that is what I'm looking for.

Thank you HouseFullOfBunnies. Is that the one that's been discontinued?

HouseFullOfBunnies · 25/04/2019 22:24

Yes. All of their 'Camille' dresses have been discontinued. Which is a real shame because it's the perfect style for me! I've found that a lot of their styles since just don't suit me at all.

Bugger.

BikeRunSki · 26/04/2019 09:58

face camille loads on eBay new and used

BikeRunSki · 26/04/2019 10:03

Not sure that link is working, but if you search “Fat Face Camille” on eBay, there are loads!

HouseFullOfBunnies · 26/04/2019 13:22

Thank you, BikeRunSki! Hadn't even thought of that!!

Thanks, Astrid I like that one too!

I really don't enjoy any aspect of clothes shopping and once I find a shop/style that suits, I tend to stick with it. Looks like I might have to just venture further afield!
