Help! Low cut dress

So I've bought this dress to wear to a wedding at the start of June. It's just arrived and I love it but it's so low cut my whole bra is on display! I really want to wear it though and need to come up with a way to save my dignity, please help! (also it's maternity, I'll be 15 weeks at the wedding but I've tried it on and it looks fine)

Can you pin it together?

ShakeYourTailFeathers · 25/04/2019 17:35

Camisole underneath?

NowWeAreSuckingDiesel · 25/04/2019 17:41

So are you about 9 weeks at the mo? Just throwing it out there that you're unlikely to need a specific maternity dress that early as it's unlikely your bump will be big enough to need the extra material. Just if it helps find other dresses that solve the boob problem! X

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 25/04/2019 17:52

Yup 9 weeks, you're completely right I don't specifically need a maternity dress but I really liked this one and I actually think if you had a big bump you might struggle in this, there's some room around the tummy but not loads.

I found a plain white cotton crop cami but I'm not sure if it would look a bit naff?

Lovely dress! Do you mind me asking where it’s from? Am on the look out for a nice maternity dress for a wedding x

BikeRunSki · 25/04/2019 17:56

Google “modesty panels”. They are generally a bit naff, but you might find something suitable.

Approx40yearsofPMT · 25/04/2019 17:58

Pretty lacy bralette in a pale lilac or another colour that’s picked out on the dress?

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 25/04/2019 18:00

@BabloHoney it's ASOS they seem to have quite a few things and that one was even in the sale.

winterisstillcoming · 25/04/2019 18:00

Yup. Modesty panels or cami bra.

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 25/04/2019 18:00

@BikeRunSki I had a look but I think I would still feel like I had my bra out because they just attach on.

TheWildRumpyPumpus · 25/04/2019 18:18

Is it sitting too low because you don’t have a bump? Or are you wearing the wrong style of bra? Maybe you need something more plunging?

Are you brave enough to post a photo?

Pinkyyy · 25/04/2019 18:27

I'd buy one of the £1 lace thongs from Primark in lilac or white and sew a section of it into the bottom of the neckline.

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 25/04/2019 18:28

I wouldn't really be able to get a good picture, home alone and no full length mirror. From the picture it's as low as it's supposed to be, I'm bigger and quite busty as it is so I do think the safest bet might be to cover up a bit?

OP posts:
Loyaultemelie · 25/04/2019 18:30

I'd wear a lacy cami underneath

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 25/04/2019 18:35

@Loyaultemelie my first thought was a lace cami but I can't find one.

My go-to wedding guest dress is quite low cut so I bought a bit of guipure (?) lace off of eBay and sewed it in as a sort of modesty panel. I sewed it on top of the dress rather than inside as it seemed to look more 'intentional' like that but I'm sure it would work either way.

MaryMashedThem · 25/04/2019 18:39

(Also, that is a gorgeous dress! I hope you find a way to make it work!)

TodoDoingDone · 25/04/2019 18:43

How about a crop top? Some are pretty with lace. Or a bralette? Lovely dress!

notangelinajolie · 25/04/2019 18:43

Or a pendant/locket that sits just in the right place?

PazRaz10 · 25/04/2019 18:43

@MaryMashedThem that lace is brilliant and would look fab with this dress OP.

FaithInfinity · 25/04/2019 18:45

this monsoon top might work?

managedmis · 25/04/2019 19:16

Try it with a different bra?

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 25/04/2019 19:25

Thank you everyone! I've bought a pink crop top and I'm thinking I could add some lace to it if it works because the lace that @MaryMashedThem posted is so pretty! I've gone for navy shoes and a bag kind of vintage style. Luckily I've still got a few weeks so I'm sure I'll be able to sort it. Thanks again everyone, so much.

Could try taping it in place too
