Birchbox - worth it?

Just got my first box. A lot smaller than I though!

Mine was crap.

I like the Powder box. Had my first one recently and I’ve tried lots of them and this was the nicest.

Lamentations · 25/04/2019 17:04

I did it for a year. £13 a month, probably 5 things over that time I was pleased with. It didn't seem worth carrying on.

FiremanKing · 25/04/2019 17:04

box.thisispowder.co.uk/products/summer-box

It was £12 as there was an offer on

Kez0777 · 25/04/2019 17:06

I cancelled Birchbox after I ended up with lots of eyeliners and eyebrow pencils! I don't need more than one at a time and they last me yearsGrin
I've been getting the look fantastic box for nearly a year which I've really liked. If you get it through TopCashback you also get a decent amount of Cashback for it Smile

Kez0777 · 25/04/2019 17:07

I've also had the powder box when offers have been on, that one is a real luxury Smile

No IMO. I prefer glossybox or latest update n beauty. Look Fantastic also good value but never seems to have products I personally want.

Easilyflattered · 25/04/2019 17:27

Glossy box was better than birchbox for me.

SteelRiver · 25/04/2019 19:46

I cancelled Birchbox right away, I was so unimpressed with it. I've had much better luck with Glossybox.

I ordered the really good Black Friday deal but wasn’t impressed. Fine at that price - made some good stocking fillers for my teenage daughter but not tempted to order another one. Would rather buy one item that I really do want

I found all the beauty subscription boxes can be good but for me I just ended up with boxes of beauty products that I couldn’t or didn’t use. E.g. lots of mini moisturiser and hair products. Make up was a bit better but I tend to have a lot anyway. If you don’t already have loads of everything and will try the things you get soon after you receive them then it’s worth a try. I think Birchbox was better than glossy for make up

WeCameToDance · 25/04/2019 21:10

I prefer Glossybox although I haven't been blown away by the last few I have recieved. On the whole though I have had some really lovely stuff from Glossybox. I find that they send nice versatile make up colours whereas I felt Birchbox sent whatever they had kicking about.
I'm always tempted by Look Fantastic but I often find that while they have a nice selection of products, they are not products I would personally use.

Look at the Tili box on qvc. Not a subscription- you get an email when they come out (every couple of months) and order it if you fancy it, at £20 inc delivery. They contain a mixture of makeup, skincare and hair products

The current one had a Laura mercer eye trio, an eyeshadow stick which is lovely, a jelly lip gloss/salve which my dd ‘borrowed’, a little molton brown shower gel, a little philosophy cleanser, hand cream, mini perfume which I really like - planning to buy a full size bottle, and a few other bits. Packaging is lovely too
