Is it any good for dark brown hair? My roots always start to show after 3 weeks of root touch up at the hairdresser and I can't afford to keep going back.

Is it easy to apply? Does it last? Which shade? Help!!

Hi OP,
With Henna the whites turn into orangish shade.. but if u r already using colour then i don't know what shade will the coloured hair be. I don't think it would colour anything other than greys... Yes easy to apply but u have to keep it on for 2-4 hours for a darker shade... some people only apply for an hour but some use it for longer durations.

I use Just for Redheads henna. They advise using their champagne coloured henna leaving it on for an hour and then using your henna colour of choice. This is if you have 10% or more grey hair. I'm not there yet so not sure of the results.

I wouldn't use LUSH which is recommended a lot on here there's much better quality henna.

I use Lush henna and deeply regret it.,

I only had a handful of grey along my hairline and I liked the idea of using henna as it is cheap and easy. It never covered my greys sufficiently, no matter how long I left it on for.

The nightmare came when I tried to dye over it. Many hairdressers don't like working with hair that had been dyed with henna. The results can be patchy and in my case, the dye didn't take, so it was a waste of money.

I use Lush Henna and love it. It's a faff to apply but the Brun colour works well for my dark brown hair, the greys go a light chestnut colour though and shine quite red in the sun... I like this but you might not!

I love henna but wouldn't risk it over dyed hair - I should think you'd get orange roots and a patchy effect on the lengths. Any undyed grey hairs will come out a fiery copper colour.
