Sorry this isn't a very exciting topic, but what's the best electric toothbrush I can get but without all the apps and silly unnecessary gimics- just the best cleaning power??

I have an oral b sonic brush, which they are no longer allowed to sell. as contravention of intellectual property/copyright issues. The ancient Oral B is much better than the Phillips. I nurse mine. I have both so can judge from experience.

I loved my sonicare but got an Oral B half price from Amazon and noticed a huge difference. My teeth look look like I’ve just stepped out from the hygienist a lot longer with the Oral B

Not found anything to beat the Phillips airfloss though.

XingMing · 25/04/2019 21:25

The airfloss is awesome. Love mine.

They are not all the same.
Don't buy anything less than an Oral B 2000 in the Oral B range. You can't go wrong with that model really.
Sonicare and the other models are not used routinely in the Periodontal depts of Dental Hospitals. I am not on commission 😃

That dental blogger someone linked to is obsessed with the Bluetooth features and smart phone apps.

Out of interest what do they actually do? I’m struggling to think of a reason I’d need an app for my toothbrush

thisisthetime · 27/04/2019 13:22

I go to a really good dentist that’s won awards and stuff (if that makes their advice any better!)Grin and they recommend any sonicare one. They don’t rate oral b at all.

Thanks all! Sounds like there's two camps out there! Going to research the air floss now!

I've just switched to using bamboo. The thought of chucking out another bit of unnecessary plastic every 6 weeks was making me feel guilty.

Small actions and all that.
