Jo Malone perfume in Aldi budget

Fifteenthnamechange · 24/04/2019 15:26

I love the Jo Malone perfumes, favourite being myrr & tonka. I like heady, almost manly fragrances. Nothing floral or light for me.
Any suggestions for any frangrances that smell similar but don't involve selling a limb?Wink

Next and Avon

Thanks @KaliforniaDreamz. Any particular ones you'd recommend?

Perfume Parlour do a very good dupe of this.

BarkandCheese · 24/04/2019 16:03

I second the perfume parlour. I haven’t got the perfume you mentioned, but I do have their version of pomegranate noir and it’s spot on. Their prices are so reasonable it’s worth a try.

KaliforniaDreamz · 24/04/2019 16:40

i am not too sure about those types of scents but i know as brands they are pretty good for inexpensive perfumes. i love Avon's Timeless which i would describe as a nostalgic motherly scent - think Chanel no5.

HaventGotAllDay · 24/04/2019 20:14

Perfume Parlour dupes, better than the "real" thing because they last longer.

Betty777 · 24/04/2019 21:15

Another vote for perfume parlour. They do some tiny size oil roll ons for £3 so you can test to see if you like the smell.

I have about 5/6 fave Jo Malone fragrances and Ive found around half of their dupes are amazing copies - for literally 90% less ££

Fifteenthnamechange · 24/04/2019 22:35

Thanks, I've given perfume parlour a try. Really hope I like them for those prices!

Another vote for perfume parlour !

chesterfuckingdraws · 24/04/2019 22:51

@Fifteenthnamechange can you report back?
Myrrh and Tonka is my favourite but I can't justify the price.

Magickl · 24/04/2019 23:12

I've compared the PP version with the real one and it's spot on, stronger if anything.

PaulHollywoodsleftbollockhair · 24/04/2019 23:28

PRImark do a good dupe

PaulHollywoodsleftbollockhair · 24/04/2019 23:35

I have AMBer NOir and it smells like oud and bergamot

Fifteenthnamechange · 25/04/2019 07:24

@chesterfuckingdraws will try to remember to! I ordered a 13ml bottle of M & T & a small roll on of pomegranate noir. In the JM shop they tell u to layer the fragrances -ie spend £200 instead of £100!
Absolutely love M & T so really am hoping for the best.
Will report back peeps BlushThanks

Also @chesterfuckingdraws love your user name. Inspired by anyone in particular?

It's bizarre - I could have sworn it was the Duchess of Gloucester I saw yesterday getting out of a helicopter at KP but the outfit I described was just like the one Sophie Wessex was wearing yesterday.....

I may be doing Sophie a great disservice if it was her. Although not sure why she'd have been arriving at Kensington Palace. But possible.

catofaragon · 25/04/2019 09:01

Oops. Wrong thread - sorry!

(I always wondered how people did this - now I know!)

Momof2boys1girl · 25/04/2019 09:03

Primark do Jo Malone copies for £8 a bottle. I wear them for work and loads ask me if I’m wearing Jo Malone so it must be good 😂

chesterfuckingdraws · 25/04/2019 09:39

The primark pomegranate one is amazing. Huge bottle for £8 and it's almost identical to the JM one.

@Fifteenthnamechange why thank you! Only inspired by all the people out there who get it chest of drawers so very wrong 😂 my new favourite is nester tables 😂😂😂😂

Gentlemanwiththistledownhair · 25/04/2019 11:28

Also came on to recommend Primark. I wear the pear and white flower and my boss asked me what it was yesterday to buy for his wife (we decided that buying her the real thing was better for a gift than Primark though!)

That one is a lovely light fragrance, but the jasmine and honey is quite heady and lasts ages. Haven't smelt the others though.

Tunnockswafer · 25/04/2019 19:09

I have the Jo Malone PN one and have never received a comment or compliment when wearing it, unlike other perfumes I wear. So it either smells rank or no one can smell it at all.

Fifteenthnamechange · 25/04/2019 21:20

Interesting @Tunnockswafer. I love PN but sometimes think it can be a bit more of a scented candle/air freshener type smell.
@chesterfuckingdraws suggest it in the baby names section. Chester for a boy, Nester for a girl Bear

Jenny Glow. I have Jo Malone Blackberry and Bay, and honestly think Jenny Glow Blackberry & Bay lasts longer and noone could tell the difference.

Fifteenthnamechange · 30/04/2019 09:28

My fakey perfumes arrived. I liked them tho as I've never owned the real thing I can't compare. I'm happy with them. Thanks for the recommendation MN Smile
