I've had DREADFUL results with tanning in the last couple of years due to incredibly dry areas of knees, ankles/heels, and elbows. However, I launched Operation Rehydrate a couple of weeks ago and have improved them to such an extent that I've done a St Tropez Express Tan Sunday night and it's gone on perfectly!!!! No sunken-into-the-cracks orange patches - well pleased!
Followed quite a novel approach to achieve this!! I may share it, if anyone's in the same boat (although not sure how much longer I'll manage to stay awake this evening, this is late for me!!).
I know you need to maintain your tan by moisturising (doing that) and I exfoliated prior etc so it went on really well.
The one thing I'm not sure of the best way, particularly with this particular product, how to deal with the inevitable loss of tan - do I 1. fully exfoliate just the areas where it's going patchy and starting to come off and re-apply but making sure I don't go over any still-tanned areas or 2. go over them a bit because it doesn't matter if I go over already tanned bits or 3. I have to completely exfoliate every single area and start completely from scratch. I would see that as the most massive ballache - but I'm not quite sure how I don't end up with areas of total darkness next to 'normal' tan levels - help! I do use a mitt (I use the Skinny Tan one) and a long mitt-like thing that lets me do my back under my own steam.
Also, with this particular tan, will it let me do my lower legs say twice in a night because they never go as brown as my arms - will that work?
I'm so pleased with my formerly dry skin areas though!
