GAP toddler T-shirt's size 4T help

Please can anyone let me know how the GAP toddler sizes come up for T-shirt's? Would size Age 4 fit as a 3-4 in the supermarket like Tesco clothing would ?

My DS is a chunky boy. Therefore am I'm finding it really hard to get the right fit for tops, a lot of brands are too slim fit. When I buy up an age the length is much too long as it's a massive jump from 3-4 to 4-5.

I do buy Tesco and they seem to fit ok in 3-4, but Asda t-shirts in 3-4 are skin tight Shock

Yes I find they come up a little small though. My 4.5 year old would be a 5 in GAP.

18-24 = 2T
2-3 = 3T
3-4 = 4T
And so on, or so I've found.

I don't have any tesco shirts to compare to but my son is OK in asda 4-5 so they are pretty true to size.

I reckon if he's in 3-4 then a 4 would be perfect.

I think 4T is literally ‘Toddler age 4’ but I agree with Underactor that Gap kids come up small and short, so if you have a chunky 3yo 4T would be ok, but if he’s coming up for 4 I’d size up.!

Ignore the random ‘!’

GAP comes up quite small. DD is 9, wears 8-9 or 9-10 clothes apart from in GAP and a couple of other places where she can be in an 11 or 12.
Tesco always seemed to do quite wide clothing. Some Boden and M&S too.

I need wide, as he's just coming up 3 Shock He's sooo tall but solid. My mum has got him some Boden 3-4 and it seems ok for him too. I'll check out M&S thanks

Might try to order a 4T from gap to try, thanks for the help. They aren't the cheapest even with their big discounts.

I really like H&M but age 2-4 is too small now, and 4-6 is just too long and the shoulders look silly. Damn H&M sizing Confused
