I've got a christening next weekend. I'll be godmother Halo and have bought this lovely dress. However I need shoes and something to wear over it. Any cardigans I've tried have ended up a bit school marm-ish. Cropped off white jacket is a bit work-ish. Denim jacket too casual and a wrap would be difficult with baby holding (i know not my primary responsibility but I'm hopeful, plus my own kids will be there to wrangle). Does that leave any cover up options?? And for shoes... I hardly wear heels anymore but could manage kitten heels or low wedges. I can't bear straps around my ankles. Colours - there are tiny gold foil dots on the dress so yellow or pink maybe? I don't really wear gold usually so would prefer to avoid buying anything just for a one off.

Any ideas or links greatly appreciated!

These are from top shop but marks and plenty of other places do similar , or even a sandal version if you prefer
Not sure in jacket . Would a dressy kimono top / jacket work ? Light enough but not restrictive and structured so isn’t faffy like a wrap ?

Shoes would look great with black / navy for more wearing options

Thanks, I hadn't looked in top shop. Not sure if a kimono might be a bit too wafty since the top of the dress is a bit billowing anyway, but I haven't looked at any so I'll definitely have a browse.
