I need cheap cotton sun dresses

Have booked an expensive holiday to cheer myself up and now have no money for clothes!

I've been looking for cheap dresses but they're all viscose, etc which I guess at 30degrees in humid conditions won't be pleasant.

Where might I find quite cheap stuff which will be nicer to wear?

M&S linen is not nice in hot weather. They do some summer tops in a cotton/silk mix which is very good. I've found some of those on eBay. The patterns are usually dire so I dye them.

Not quite a sun dress but it is cotton and you will probably need a size smaller www.marksandspencer.com/pure-cotton-short-sleeve-t-shirt-midi-dress/p/p60257236?image=SD_01_T42_5612_Y0_X_EC_90&color=BLACK&prevPage=p

New Look, and I never go buy anything because of the prevalence of polyester but the dress I saw looked much more expensive.

New Look did brilliant cotton sundresses in glorious retro prints about ten years ago. You can pick them up sometimes on ebay. Go one size down.

What size are you BTW?

The last few years I have been buying the linen blend shift dresses from Asda. Some of the designs can be a bit erm 'flowery' (perfectly ok for me), but they do sometimes do plain colours. And they are £16.

I would wash a few times first. You can get away without ironing

direct.asda.com/george/women/dresses/white-linen-blend-dress/GEM657016,default,pd.html?cgid=D1M1G20C1George.

They keep adding new designs /colours through the season

Next do nice linen/linen blend shifts. I have one from a few years back and it is a staple on hot holidays. It is loose, sleeveless and comfortable. And it has pockets!

Viscose is fine in the heat. I have quite a few items made from it, and I'm a hot 🥵 person generally, doesn't make me hot or sweaty. Also it is ideal for holidays as lightweight and doesn't crease as much as cotton does.

Try SHEIN. Some of their things can be hit or miss but I always look to buy things that have been reviewed with photos.

I came on to say Shein. Not that I've bought anything from them, but they advertise at me a lot in the sidebar on MN and there seems to be some quite nice stuff for reasonable prices. Much cheaper than asos (though asos may be better quality - and some of it is reasonably priced).

TK Maxx, ,"Mudd and water" brand - 100% cotton, ethically sourced. I really like them.

I find that viscose creases a lot, unless it's the viscose jersey stuff.
