No idea where to start.
I wear jeans and hoodies and black trainers all day every day, i’m a size 16 now.
I don’t wear makeup except a bit of daily moisuriser and a smudge of concealer under my eyes.
I look about ten years older than I actually am.
Where do I start? I know I need to lose weight and shape up. I’ll tried eye shadow and liner and look like a clown.
What do I need on my face as a minimum?

I'm definitely not the most fashion forward person but I think I would suggest as follows:

  1. Get hair cut and ?? coloured - depending on your current colour
  2. Find your nearest Bobbi Brown counter and book a trial session with them. Tell them you want a natural look. Perhaps if that feels too much at the moment then just buy a good BB cream and maybe a little bit of bronzer or blush together with your normal mascara and concealer. The Clinique chubby sticks are great for a bit of colour without feeling like they are too much.
  3. A drop of fake tan in your normal moisturiser each day will act as a gradual tanner. This will help you feel brighter.
  4. Whiter teeth may help you feel younger (ignore this if your teeth are white!) if not see if you can get a Groupon voucher for your local dentist.
  5. Up your exercise - this will help you feel better in yourself and your skin will look brighter.
  6. Make sure you take your make up off each night and invest in a good skincare regime. Clinique Take the Day off with a hot flannel is good. Followed by a serum and moisturiser. You can build on this as a basic regime.
  7. Wear factor 50 suncream on your face - the Le Roc Posay one is good for sensitive skin.
  8. Ditch the hoodies. You may feel sensitive about your tummy area at the moment. I would suggest a few tops that glide over that area but this coupled with maybe some ballet pumps or loafers would smarten your look up immediately. Sainsburys are good for cheap shoes.
  9. Get your eyebrows professionally shaped. Ask for advice about whether you need to fill them in once done.
10. Drink lots of water 11. Slimming world, my fitness pal are good for weight loss. 12. Couch25k app great for starting running 13. Check out the princessing threads on here - lots of good advice.

Hope that helps OP. You will feel better when you take some small steps. Good luck x
