Piercing daft question

Excitingly, I think my triple forward helix might be nearly healed so I’m looking for earrings for it. I’m presuming I need a screw back type but googling doesn’t really help confirm that.
Does anyone know?

Are you looking for the bar with the double ball or the bar with the flat-back.

My DD got some from TDi Body Jewellery (Titanium)

Do you know the length of the post and the thickness you need?

I have a flat back labret-type in my forward helix.

Meant to add, I find a screw in one really difficult to handle. Push pin much easier easier. You need to know the length of the bar. Too long will irritate and cause bumps. Too short won’t allow any swelling which can occur if it flares up. My single is 5mm which has been just right, though it was pierced with 7mm to allow swelling while healing.

I have a 6mm screw in labret in my forward helix. Sits well, just the right size and although a wee bit fiddly to screw on once it's on you don't need to mess with it any more

I need to work out what length it should be, seems a bit chicken and egg!

I have had a ball fall off and it needed screwing back on and it was a complete pig to get back in. So ideally I’d rather a normal butterfly, but I’m guessing that’s a bad idea?

Butterfly not suitable. Try to get a non-threaded labret and push pin jewellery. I’ve got a turquoise round thing from Anatometal and a little thing with 4 tiny balls arranged as a diamond in my conch.

BiscuitDrama · 20/04/2019 17:26

Ah didn’t know a push labret existed.

Thanks everyone!

Ooh, I had no idea there were non screw in versions. I have a forward helix and have to go to a piecing place every time I want to change the earring. Seems like you can't buy from the site linked above, anyone know where I could buy some nice threadless studs?

Push pin ends. And labret bars. I got from here but from the shop (work near by)

And these. www.lovehatesocialclub.com/collections/body-jewellery/brand_BVLA

With both you buy the end separately from the labret. But you keep the labret in and only change the end.

Oh, those are lovely.
